What is Poetry?

By Definition:

Poetry is a literature art form where the author elicits emotion or thought from the reader through metered writing.

Good Poetry:

Its quality is assessed on a person by person basis. Ask yourself these questions:

What was the authors conclusion?
Can you connect with it?
How original does it feel?
Does it feel similar to something you've read before?
Was it presented in a way you wouldn't think to?
Do you feel time was spent in it's creation?
Did it move you?

The more you read, the more repeated patterns you see shifting your judgement to better represent a ranking among the bulk.
