There you are in a sharp, gray suit,
waving your arm around New York
"The weather is a bit chilly..."
fading away, I look into your face-
a fake smile worn with lines of worries & time
kind though, behind the camera you almost look real, almost.
Educated guesses that bring us wind & rain,
what a lifestyle, living on the edge of what the world could bring-
"....beautiful days are ahead for this area..."
around the west coast you move your arm in circular motions
you have probably practiced a million times,
standing in front of a blue screen with computer images of America
you look one way & see nothing, the next, everything.
Finally, your arm falls onto the east coast, my home,
what will you say today, weatherman?
"On the other side we have overcast skies & rain, I am sorry to report..."
... are you really? I doubt it...
then again, perhaps he feels it's his fault, bringing darkness upon us all-
imagine, looking at the country every morning & telling them what they will see today,
do we underestimate him?
The television is off as I walk to the door expecting rain,
a cloud to block my view,
the door swings open to reveal blue sky with patches of gray
& sunshine that hits me full in the face...
my thoughts speak to no one in particular
“....isn't that just like man!”

I don't care too much for rhetorical questions. I think it could be better with some restructuring.
Your post wasn't the most unique, but of the unique posts, this was the best organized that hit multiple points instead of just one original concept all the way through. It goes beyond the fancy ties and tries to define the person.
My closest friends and few respected English majors agreed, this will be the winner.

Congratulations, Jennifer, this is a great piece. You actually expressed concern for the weatherman, which is unique to be sure. LOL
Good job!
