Despite the challenge of bringing to life a poem about the weatherman Joy7542's poem stood out from all the submissions. Most submissions either blamed the weatherman for being wrong, compared his powers to the omnipotent, or just pointed at the trade mark neck ties and news anchor looks. Joy7542's felt like a rebuttal of the average post even though it was among the first posts. Her poem addressed multiple common points and actually included the weatherman's persective. Despite its short length it contained everything that I felt was lacking from the average submission it his contest. My closest friends, and a few english majors I know agreed, this is the winner.
congratulations for being the first winner in this new system.
Thank you for everyone who entered this contest. There were only a few, 5 or less, people that followed the rules in this contest that said not to start and end with 5 syllable words. Because this is the first contest of this new system, and because I personally cheated by complaining about people not following the rules a few times(enabling others to have an unfair chance), I did not take the rule into account. This poem was Judged by the webmaster and 5 other people that will remain anonymous. All entries were read at the same time on the final day in randomized order with the author of the writing hidden by the system.
