Roleplay - Humanity's Last Stand by Lord Bane / Lord Bane

On a distant forbidding world, the last survivors of humanity find themselves being hunted by their worst nightmares. If the demons dont find them, then the humans who help them will, and the fate of those who are found doesn't bear thinking about. However, there is one chance. Hidden somewhere on this world is an ancient weapon, so powerful even the demons themselves fear it. If it could be found and used, then humanity could be saved. If it falls into the wrong hands....

Roleplay

Lord Bane: Please note: my namesake, Lord Bane, is involved in this somewhere. You will have to work out for yourselves whose side he is on :)
Lord Bane: The strange figure beside Ricka smiled. "Do I really need to tell you? The more humans that live, the more likely the demons will kill you. Besides, they wouldn't think twice before they did the same to you," he said, smiling. He laughed. His plan was working perfectly
Lord Bane: "You have no choice," he said. "I can protect you from the demons. This 'weapon' is a fools dream, hunting for it will spell the end of mankind. Destroy them and I promise you will never face death again." Unknown to Ricka, he could already see the dark shapes gathering in the distance. He smiled, for unknown to the humans he carried a dark secret
Lord Bane: Unknown to Aerith, someone or something was watching her. It smiled, here lay humanity's doom. His master was looking for a half-breed to turn to his will. He would have to move quickly though. Clearly the other demons knew this too, but only he knew how to cross the barriers. "Don't fear my lord. I shall not fail." He moved towards Aerith as silently as possible.
Lord Bane: The figure laughed at Ricka foolishness. How easily humans turned on each other to save themselves. "Well done my young friend. You had best leave before the demons come to feed." As she disappeared into the distance he laughed. Even the Ancients had been more difficult to destroy then these pitiful being were. It was time to report to the Precursor, Phase 2 was about to begin
Lord Bane: A voice called to Ricka. "You think any human will trust you now? There are forces at work here you cannot begin to understand. Find the one they call Bane, he will tell you all you need to know. Be wary though, Bane is the only one you can trust now." The voice vanished as suddenly as it had appeared
Lord Bane: "You think your pitiful magic can harm me?" the figure said. "I was born before humanity even existed, I could kill you with one thought if I so wished. I am here to make you an offer. Those demons will not help you, and the few humans who are not their allies will kill you when they discover the truth. I can offer you a way out. My master believes your kind are humanities future and wishes to help you. It is your choice, but know this: Say no and every being on this world will be out to kill you. You have 30 seconds to choose your fate."
Lord Bane: The figure smiled. "You have chosen well Aerith. There is a creature moving among the humans, trying to turn them to his will. He is neither human nor demon, a half-breed like yourself. He plans to use the weapon to destroy your kind, my lord believes that human and demon can coexist. He will try and use a girl called Ricka to gain access to the weapon, he cannot succeed. Tell anyone what I have just told you and I will unleash the one creature even you cannot kill. Need I say more?" The figure vanished, leaving Aerith alone again.
Lord Bane: A tall human appeared. He turned to Aerith. "You want to know who the half-breed is? Legends tell of a creature called Bane. He lived here long ago, but he turned on his own kind. It is said he seeks something on this world, but as yet has not found it. Be warned though. Bane has no loyalty to humans or demons. His prize would be to turn us all against each other if he could. He is not the one you should fear, his master is far more powerful than every demon on this world combined."
Lord Bane: "I don't know what he searches for. As for his master, he is said to be a Demonkin, one of the fallen beings who first created demons. He wields powers so ancient that even the oldest races in this universe can barely comprehend how strong he is. Yet there is a flaw: as of yet he cannot cross into our realm. Whatever Bane seeks may have something to do with him." The man flinched, trying to hide the mark on his arm which would reveal more then he could risk her knowing. The sickness was spreading through him...he didn't have long....before Aerith could ask anymore he died, the only other clue being a scrap of paper, with writing in a strange language she couldn't read or understand.
Lord Bane: Non-RPG mode a sec. I need to go to bed. If u want to continue, go ahead. More answers when i log on again. And be careful, there are at least two seperate demon factions at work, and they will promise u anything if they can claim their prize....
Lord Bane: Bane smiled on the scene. It was perfect, humanity was about to see its last hopes destroy each other. The foolish demons trying to defeat his master would soon discover who the real lord of this world was....
Lord Bane: The lion-demon stirred. Something else was here. It wasn't human, demon...it was like nothing it had ever sensed before. It wasn't even a half-breed like the girl. He stared into the darkness, but the feeling passed. What had the girl brought with her? Suddenly he felt very uncomfortable, he needed to get her out of here as quickly as possible...
Lord Bane: One of the other lion demons answered: "You are not safe here anymore. Something has found us. It's nothing we have faced before, neither human, demon nor half-breed. We have heard stories of them, the only name we know for them are Wraiths. They are powerful enough that even Bane himself fears them, but they are no friend of your kind either. You must go now."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: The Wraith watched as they left. He knew Aerith could not be allowed to fall into the demons hands, but she was oblivious to the tricks they were playing. Something told him he would have to kill her if the Wraiths were to live.
Lord Bane / Bane: "Listen to me," Gail said to Aerith. "What I am about to tell you would see me killed by the others in a flash. The girl, Ricka, and you are your kinds last hope of survival. This terrifies Bane and the other demons, hence they are trying to turn you against each other. You must find her and stop her from helping Bane. As for the Wraiths, I do not know why they hunt you, but now they have your blade they can track you to the ends of the earth. DO NOT try and fight them, you cannot hope to win."
Lord Bane / Bane: Before they could reach the village, the figure who had been following them struck. Gail fell, killed by the sword of a figure who appeared barely human. "You fool," he said, "don't you see? Gail was a trick, sent to draw you towards Bane's enemies. The village is gone, as are your parents, your siblings...everything. Gail was right about two things though. One: Ricka is your only hope, if she still lives, and two, if the Wraiths find you, run because they will kill you without a second thought." The man vanished, leaving Aerith to ponder what he meant, puzzled by what he said about Gail. Could she have been so easily fooled?
Lord Bane / Bane: Bane smiled as he found Gail. He picked himself up and, having replaced his head, looked at his master. "It is done my lord, she now thinks the demons will kill her. Thank goodness there are still humans allied to us." Bane nodded. "We cannot release the Precursor without her," he said. "Find the best hunter we have. Tell him to find her and bring her to me." He watched Gail vanish into the night. He only had one worry now: the Wraiths knew his plan, they wouldn't rest till Aerith was killed. He would have to stall them

Lord Bane / Bane: (sorry for three posts. PC went a bit funny)
Lord Bane / Edmund: Edmund limped towards Aerith, the arrow stuck through his leg clearly causing him pain. "Help me," he said. "I know the answers you seek, that is why your so called 'friends' did this to me. I'm dying." He desperately fought to remain conscious.
Lord Bane / Edmund: "Your village," he replied. "Bane annihilated it, his powers are greater than you can possibly imagine. He revealed something to one of soldiers....I overheard it...you and Ricka are intended to be used in a ritual. When he kills you two he will unleash the only creature on this world the Wraiths fear..." before he lost consciousness again, he uttered one word, "Precursor."
Lord Bane / Edmund: <U found it yet Dori? have to remember to get me into High School Romance too lol>
Lord Bane / Edmund: <Right as simple as I can explain it:
Ure a human survivor (u can b a bad human if u really want). There are two demon forces hunting u, one led by a critter called bane, the other leader we dont know yet. They need to b avoided at all costs. There are also the Wraiths, hated by humans and demons. Considering the fact a village just got torched, u can b one of the survivors of that if u want. Did you follow that?>
Lord Bane / Firstborn: <Saw that, just couldn't spot where i was meant to jump in hehe>
Lord Bane: Edmund stared at her. "There is one hope. Yours and Ricka's combined powers will stop Bane from succeeding and will help you use the weapon to escape. But you HAVE to work together, if you don't...Bane has won..."
Lord Bane: <soz not been on, problems with PC> Edmund stared at her. "There are legends about this place. The Wraiths...they aren't what they appear to be...I'm not sure I should even tell you this."
Lord Bane / Edmund: "We created them," he said. "The Wraiths were an experiment gone wrong....the demons didn't nearly wipe out humanity....Wraiths did it for them....I should know, I helped create them..."
Lord Bane / Edmund: "They were meant to protect humanity...but they were too powerful to control...they must have come here on our ships...."
Lord Bane / Edmund: "I don't know," he said. "They were designed to be immortal. No human weapon can kill them. If they could be coaxed into helping us...."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "Is this what you seek?" the wraith said as he appeared beside her. He carried her katana in one hand.
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "You seek to destroy my kind? Why should I not slay you where you stand, half-breed?"
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "You consort with the demons who stalk this world, all logic tells me I should kill you now."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "I can save your kind," he said. "I know what fate awaits you if you do not help each other."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "The demons will kill half-breeds AND humans...as they once did to my kind..."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "You human fools believed you cloned us from your own DNA...you didn't. We come from a race Bane and his friends helped destroy....he was one of us originally..."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "Even Wraiths cannot stop Bane alone. I suggest we ally, Wraiths and survivors. What he seeks to do threatens both of our races."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "There is yet a chance humanity will live, but if the Precursor is freed...even I will be unable to stop him."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "There could be millions of us...the Precursor's powers dwarf ours, he is demon lord....something humanity fears more than me."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "Ricka is gone...i do not know what happened to her." [honestly i don't]. "You will have to kill Bane yourself, and hope you can stop his ritual."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "It is simple, find your mother and you will find him...as for the blade, here." He threw it to her.
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "He wears your mother's medallion around his neck...it still has a fragment of her mind within it."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "The Precursor will be unleashed...humanity as a race will die...the age of the demon will begin. I cannot help you, Edmund can though."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "The Wraiths will not destroy humanity...you are power-hungry fools but I would not wish this fate on anyone. Your kinds time is not yet over...mine is"
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "The cloning process did not save my kind, merely ensured we cheated death a short while. Time is catching up with my kind. It is not yet time for death to find humans..." he began to fade.
Lord Bane / Firstborn: "You can yet survive...find Bane...kill him...it is not time...."
Lord Bane / Firstborn: Edmund stirred. "I'm sorry," he said.
Lord Bane: "I was their bodyguard, employed to protect them from....well anything. They were meant to be safe, but he found them. Before I could stop him he had murdered both, and I barely escaped with my life....Your mother told me to find you, that you alone would be able to stop Bane...."
