(if you join you will most probably be added, just check the RP details!RED, check RP details please!) The cities lie in ruin and the dead walk the streets.Fires burn everywhere, None of us were expecting it, though now looking back it seems obvious it would happen. Its called the blood virus or the dawn virus, because thats when it escaped, If the blood or saliva of the infected gets into your eyes or mouth, your dead.
The Virus struck on the 8th of july, We were watching the updates of mass violence and death on our screens, watching the news fascinated yet somehow detached becuase it didnt effect us.
We were living in a bubble, we believed what we saw on the news would never reach us, it did. The creatures had spread throughout england and america in a matter of days, the infected were on your street clawing at your door.
The infected were your family and freinds, the next door neighbour thats always lived there, your brother or sister.
By the third week the virus had spread throughout europe, no where was safe, the few cities and towns left soon fell, leaving small bases of survivors dotted around, the numbers still falling.
Everyday the distress signals we pick up on the radio get fewer and fewer. The TV's have finally given out, theres nothing but static left, everything is gone.
The world has fallen to the dead and we can do nothing but survive and hope that one day we will be able to fight back.
But for now all we can do is wait and watch as the screams fill the air, hoping, always hoping that one day the dead will be gone.
I know that day will not be soon.
Not long ago a group of survivors made a camp, so much happened there, outside of the city, but its gone now, everyone was scattered or were killed. They try to rebuild occasionally,, away from where the blood stains the ground and the rotting bodies lay like a carpet over the already ankle deep mud. They never manage it.
Freinds where seperated by death or bad luck, brothers and sisters lost eachother, children lost there parents. The doctor couldn't cope with the amount of people being rushed in, dead or dyeing, most infected.
The plague killed almost everyone and many of the subjects who resided there dissapeared, maybe buried among the bodies, maybe out there somewhere.
And as the dawn sun rises I look from my perch on the cliff edge, and ask myself, when will it end, when will i find you?

However, a particular scientist took pity on her and rehabilitated her by infusing several of her vital organs and body parts with bio-mechanical structures. She has become the poster child for the government's testing program. Her sight was compromised by the injuries she sustained during the accident and it is the one thing that she was unable to have fixed. Glados is extremely powerful and is being used as a sheperd to round-up the other test subjects, though she is wondering if this is the right thing to do.

Any extra/background info: She is David's younger sister whom he thought was dead. She has spent years searching for him and peicing together memories of her life before the world collapsed into the grip of the virus. She is intelligent and stronger than her thin frame appears. She has powerful mood swings due to being a small child when the virus broke out and having never lived with people she finds it difficult to understand them. Her appearance shifts with her mood like the colour and size of her wings. She is reliable in a bad situation though and never lies or breaks a promise, no matter what the cost.
After the daze, the first thought that entered Robbie's mind was 'I'm really cold.' She checked her shoulders with a heavy eyes, noticing that her jacket was somewhat burned, and so the wind was getting through to her skin. She shivered slightly, the warmth inside her dying down. Then she heard a cry.
She yawned, blinking a few times and wiping some of the melting ice off her wings as she stood up. "I've heard that somewhere before." she scratched the back of her head, trying to force the wall of tiredness away so that she could think clearly. After a few seconds the dull moan came again, she heard it this time and looked up at the rows of trees that blocked any creature from view. Then she blinked again, her eyes seemed to blur out of focus as if she were in some kind of trance, really she was just trying to see through each tree individualy. But she was quick, and it didn't take long before the creature was less than three rows behind. Creatures. There were five slow ones, dragging themselves along on rotting muscle and broken bone. Dispite their disgusting appearance, the rotting was only about eight weeks worth, underground that would have made their faces unrecognisable and walking impossible, but up here they weren't exposed to as much bacteria and the virus somehow slowed down decomposition, although they looked especially brain dead, but that is the first thing to go. Through the bark her x-ray style vision couldn't make out much more detail, other than the colour of their torn clothes and the bite marks that patterned their disgusting flesh. "Five slow ones." she said, glad that they were so slow and so hadn't reached them yet, it was almost funny that you could just jog a few paces ahead of one and taunt it for a while before shooting it...if you were that twisted in the head, she prefered chopping them up; but that's what you get if you take something away from Rachel. "I can't see any more animals, but we should watch out for birds. Birds and mammals are most likely to be able to catch this kind of thing. Then again they have no saliva to pass it on to us, but I don't really wanna be pecked to death." she shrugged, realising her mind was wondering again. It was odd really, in some ways she was grown up, like survival skills, but inside she was still so childish. "Can you fly?" she poked one of his wings curiously, as the first of the five creatures stumbled out from behind the row of trees, with open ground it could continue it's slippery course towards them much faster. She was wondering if this guy had a fight or flight policy, and if he did fight, whether she'd be able to take one out; she'd already killed plenty, one more couldn't hurt.
"Shhhh....stay back, I didn't get the brain, rule number two, double tap." Had it been three or two, or even one?....He sighed it was sad when he remembered the movies of old, Zombie land (how he hated that word) Had been a favourite of his...
A dizzying pain awoke him and Richard gasped, straining for breath that would not come. He opened his eyes and closed them again quickly. It was near noon now, and the bright light streamed in from the half-thatched window, searing his sight. He squeezed them and grunted as he tried again and managed to keep them open. The first thing he noticed was the floor he was lying on. This confused him as he desperately tried to remember where he was and how he’d gotten there. A reeking, foul stench of rotten sour flesh slapped his senses and he gazed down on the headless corpse he realized he was laying on. As the sights swirled around him, they took on new meaning until Richard finally regained his memories. “Shit,” he wheezed, sitting up quickly enough to feel the cracked ribs in his side, “Robbie….”
And so she screamed. Her mouth released an endless shriek- or so it seemed endless. SHE, after so long laying dormant, tried to calm Robbie down, but to no avail. Robbie continued to scream until her throat became hoarse and raw with doing so.
She jumped back as the disgusting creature pounced, falling into the cold snow with a squeaky yelp. The creature fell to the ground and sticky red blood spilled out around it. She lay staring at the red stain for a while before she had completely understood what had happened, it had been infected. "That's impossible..." she muttered, slowly and carefully lifting herself out of the freezing snow which now soaked all of her clothes, hair and wings. The wolf had clearly been dead for weeks. A coughing fit engulfed her before she could comment further on the wolf's condition, her chest burned from the pain of the cold and she was forced to sit back down in the freezy snow. "Great..." she muttered, "Now I have a cold too." years ago she would have said swine flu as a joke, but now people knew what viruses could really do, nobody said things like that anymore. She had noticed the shocked look on his face when she said her name, but the creature had stopped her from replying, and a sudden flutter of tiredness meant she really didn't care anymore.
"Rachel!?" His eyes widened with shock, but there was no time now for a happy reunion.
"I'm not." she said, wiping her face and shivering, trying to decide if she should push herself away and walk to the trees to find the source of the birds fear. "And I don't know your name, you just have the same name as someone I know...used to know." she looked at the white puffy snow that was melting against her red legs, thankfully it wasn't blood that made them red, just the cold. "My dog." she lied, finally getting the strength to push herself away and turn back to face him, making sure there were no tears on her cold cheeks. "I'm Rachel." she said, holding out a shivering hand and kicking some snow as she did so. "And now I know you so we don't have to stand here freezing to death while we debate whether or not I know you." she tried to adopt a bossy tone, but ended up sounding like a spoiled six year old, and her stern impression was even more of a failure. Finally the sound of a snapping twig, followed by a groaning sound came from the trees.
David tilted his head slightly, catching something that sounded like his name, how odd.
She shook her head, feeling herself shiver with the movement as cold spread up her thin legs and caused her whole body to breifly shiver, despite the warm wings. "I don't know anyone." she said, looking down at the snow that hid her lower half and caused her manic shivering to continue. "The infection took everything." It's not like she knew anyone before the infection hit either, her brother was her only friend, and when they attacked and nearly killed her they took him too, she could see how much blood had covered the house when she finally had the chance to go back and look, there was no way he got out alive. And since then she had been a loner, and it was how she liked it. A sigh escaped her lips, something about this tall messy haired guy was familiar, and it made her want to stand and talk forever in the freezing conditions, just to hear another friendly voice. She shook her head again, looking at her own messy black hair as she did so, it was just like her brother's had been, but much longer. "I used to have a dog." she said smiling again, the only conversation she could think of was that, and she had to say something less melodramatic and depressing, even though the dog had been torn to peices, a tear slipped down her cheek. Thankfully she was able to spin around as she heard a group of startled birds explode from some trees behind them, hiding her tear. The birds circled wide in the air and she searched around her trying to see what had startled them. She stepped back, now oblivious to the cold or warm she wondered if there was something in the snow after all. "David..." she muttered to herself, childish fear caused her to cry a little more and now that she was in the company of another human, she saw how little she had acctually grown up.
GLADOS lead the two girl out of the house, slowly and cautiously, lips pressed together in a thin line as she concentrated on both walking, and the sounds of the infected masses that was making their way towards their hovel. They were coming from the east. “Damn it,” GLADOS clicked between her teeth. She turned to the girl, long arms pulling them close to shield them against the wind. Bending her head down to their level she said in a voice that was just above the howling tone of a sharp breeze that cut through them, “they’re coming from that direction. We have must return to the city limits. Can you follow?” If need be she would carry them. It was cold, and her chip revealed that during the nightly blizzard, the temperature had sunk down below ten degrees- and it was continuing to drop. Inside her chest her half-mechanical heart thundered out of anxiety she would never allow to be seen in her face. The city could be more dangerous, but they had to chance it. Out ahead, in the distance there was nothing. Literally. And if they wanted to survive they’d have to dive head-long into the fire.
A scream was what jolted Richard from sleep, causing his body to jump up-right, rocking the chair backwards and onto the floor. Cursing incoherently and grasping his now scraped right wrist, he gingerly removed himself from the fallen furniture and picked up his parka that he had used as a blanket through the restless night. His eyes scanned the room, aided by small filaments of light that filtered through the dirt and board covered windows of the room. Dawn had come at last. Thinking the scream had been a dream he stretched, yawned, and proceeded to look over at the bed where he had thought to see Robbie curled up beneath the covers- and then stiffened when her figure was nowhere to be found. He growled, his body immediately going into “fight mode” and his eyes surveying the room for any signs of a forced entry or fight. He found nothing, but let out a guttural sigh as he noticed the door cracked open. So she’d done the stupid thing he’d told her not to do. He let his body relax, throwing his coat onto the bed, until another high-pitched shriek sent him spiraling back to a ready stance. “Robbie…”
Tiffany and Shanna held each other close, until a sudden jolt of surprise hit them. The infected were coming toward them? And not just one or two, but many. This weather should stop them in their trackes. Tiffany rose, helping Shanna to her feet. The two would help each other out to move. They had to keep up with Glados. The noise outside grew louder. The creeking of the building increased. A plan would take to long to make, but couldn't be rash at a time like this. Tiffany held Shanna's hand to reasure her that nothing would go wrong. But that wasn't a promise easily kept. The two girls looked at Glados and nodded. It was time to leave. Tiffany grabed a small bag and carried it over her shoulder with one hand, and held Shanna's hand with her other.
David froze as the voice rung out behind him. He flexed his wings .
The cold was finally starting to get on her nerves. A pair of large white wings grew from her back slowly, until eventually they were big enough to wrap around the small frame, like some kind of big feather blanket. Much warmer now, but walking much slower she was able to take in the sights more effectively. The damage and ghostlyness of the villages really hit her, but before she had time to mutter some cliche comment she noticed something walking ahead of her. It was large and black, slightly blurred by the thin fog that was rolling in. She froze as solid still as the ice and watched it, but after a few seconds she noticed something about the way it walked; it was feeling the cold, all huddled up like that. She called out, her voice unfamiliar even to her as it had been so long since she'd spoken to anything alive. "Hey, mister, or miss." the childish ring made her feel like a school child again. Back in the days when she felt she would never grow up, when the only thing that mattered... she shook her head, memories were painful and now that they were back she only wanted them gone again.
David Had his arms wrapped tightly round his middle, slightly tattered black trenchcoat pulled tightly round him in the cold, he looked back the way he came, it seemed once again he had lost everyone. The swarm that had attacked the house took them by surprise, it was the biggest group he had EVER seen in the winter months.
The snow was knee deep around her legs, whose only protection was a thin ripped pair of jeans that were now several years old and looked much older. The girl had her arms wrapped tight around her waist, as if that would somehow keep her warmer. A baggy torn shirt and wollen jumper were the only things covering her shivering stomach. Her head turned slowly from side to side, looking at and through the buildings around her, trying to spot something useful, but all she saw were frozen rotting corpses. Hoping one of them wouldn't burst from the snow she continued onwards, bare neck stretched as if it would help find something important. Her long black hair was tied up, but small strands fell across the pale heart shaped face and neat features. The hike continued for hours, through village and woodland, but still she found nothing living, and nothing that could help her; child like hope continued to fade away into the cold darkness as night drew closer.
A rumbling. It was coming from somewhere closs. Robin's mind was sweeping away from the darkness of sleep, slowly surfacing to the grey dawn outside. Her eyes were a little fuzzy and unfocused, making it hard to find her target- if there was one. But when her mind was finally able to process sound a new word came to mind when she heard the noise again. Snoring. She almost bursted into hysterical laughter. She was so spazzy she couldn't comprehend between different sounds. But it was also early in the morning, and she probably didn't get that much sleep. Her eyes adjusted to her surroundings, something amiss... She was laying on her back. (Straight) on her back. How was that possible when she was supposed to be sleeping on a- very lumpy- chair?
Richard watched her fall asleep, listened to the shallow breathing from the rise and fall of her chest. As he moved from the bed with the silence and stealth of a large cat he contemplated on what she said. A voice? In her head? He gathered her in his two arms, tightly packed with sinewy muscles which rolled beneath the long-sleeved shirt he wore, and brought her to the queen sized mattress she had fought so desperately for him to have. The thought brought a lingering smile to his lips as he laid her beneath the blankets and padded her into a warm cocoon. He stood, stretched and then sat in the chair, restless and anxious for the morning to come.
They sounded like pretty awesome people. Emphasis on AWESOME. Robbie grimaces, contemplating what it would be like to have found out that her powers weren't HERS, but altered into her system. Of course, after a while, like all things, big or small, she wouldn't notice, but... 'That ought to have been traumitizing,' she thought. 'You ain't seen nothin' yet, kid,' SHE said. SHE'd gotten more hostile and mean since Richard arrived. Richard had been nothing but nice and hospitable. 'Probably jealous,' she thought toward HER, hoping it'd make HER mad enough to leave.
