The world has very few people in it. Global warming caused disasters, then a world war, finally disease and famine finished the survirors. Fast forward a thousand years and there are still less than twenty thousand people all around the world. Things are very peaceful... because there aren't many people to start wars. What few people survive do so on their own, so when they meet another human they are awkward but friendly.
Because of the decline in population. The human race is slowly but surely going extinct. Not with a bang but a whimper.
Some people live as scavengers in abandonned cities. Some hunt and forage in the wilderness. And some travel around. There are no populated cities and very few villages none of which have more than a hundred people. When people have children they don't often stay together because they don't know how to act around other people. Instead they'll live nearby so that they can visit their offspring occasionally, or just leave. Its not uncommmon for a person to never see another person except the parent that raised them. Some people have even forgotten how to speak since there's no real need to.
Technology level can't be higher than the present day's level. Preferably lower.
No supernatural. No vampires. No werewolves. No magic. No demons. No being faster or stronger than a human can realistically be.
No cybering.
No other rules, just use your common sense.
Cecil yawned as he moved in the dark, crunching leaves under him. "Damn...I would've like a traveling body, but he seemed so attached to the house." He looked back and murmured, "I couldn't take him away from that." As he walked and sighed heavily, he heard a low growling and wolf's howl.
He entered the cabin and it took him a few moments to realize that Cecil was not there. He looked back outside and scanned the area around the cabin, thinking that he might have gone out to relieve himself, but didn't see him. He shrugs and enters, thinking that he might have gone out for fresh air as well, but after several minutes, he is unable to put aside a feeling that that was not the case.
<Just a warning: I may not be on until Sunday. :( I'm going to NYC until Sunday, so...Sorry. '^_^>
Cecil blinked and said, "Oh...okay." He watched as Tassus left before taking a seat at the table. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling. He then stood up and moved around the cabin, looking around a bit, smiling. "Wow...It's so homely." Cecil frowned and murmured, "I wish dad had built something like this..." He looked at his right arm and smiled sadly. "Oh well...At least I got him." Cecil looked around some more before moving back to the table and placing a hand on his right cheek. He sighed heavily and murmured, "Why aren't I tired?" He stared at the wooden table and whispered, "And why don't I miss mom as much as I claim I do? I'm simply taking Tassus away from his home..." Cecil looked back at the door before opening it, peeking around outside, and walking off towards the woods. He smiled. "It's for the best." He kept moving and looked back at Tassus' hut one last time before he continued walking.
<Yeah, I noticed he hasn't replied in a while.>
Cecil laughed a bit and said, "That's right. I apologize, Tassus. I did say that..." He thought for a minute before saying, "But you see, I meant...Well, I guess I did mean I was becoming sick, but I meant it was no big deal." Cecil smiled and said, "Again, I apologize. That was a screw up on my part." He then continued, "Oh...I guess I shouldn't travel if I'm sick...But I'll be fine. Honest." Cecil smiled, feelign very calm and relaxed around Tassus.
( I am...Just Leon hasn't replied)
"Did I misunderstand you? 'To come down with some thing' means to become sick?" That's what he thought that it meant. Language was a dying art however. Tassus had no way of knowing if that saying was still in use or even if it had ever been in use by anyone other than his father, who, being the only human he'd ever met, was also the only person he'd ever heard say it. "If you get sick, you can't travel."
Cecil blinked and said, chukling a bit, "Why don't I have to go lye down? I'm fine, honest." He followed Tassus into the hut anyway and lay down in the bed.
He was glad that he wasn't in danger, but still concerned. "You should lay down inside. I'll finish up." He left the traps in the food storage hut and began blocking up its entrance so that no small animals could get in and wreak havoc with his food supplies. By the time he finished it was getting dark. "Are you feeling better?" He asked Cecil as he entered the hut. He began planning what to make for dinner, and readying their food for breakfast the next day and supplies for the journey.
Natalie: Yes, you can join, anime pic preffered, but no problem if you can't find one.
Cecil yawned and walked out of the woods. "Damn, he must've walked pretty far." When he saw Tassus, he blinked. "Oh...Hey Tassus." Cecil smiled and asked, "Did you catch anything? I was just trying to see where you were." He coughed sharply into his right sleeve and apologized to Tassus. "I think I'm coming down with something..."
Tassus walks around the path that he usually takes to check the rabbit traps and picks them all up. They were very simple in design and easy to care for, so he would not need to do much other than keep them in a dry place in order to keep them functional. He heard Cecil shouting as he reached the cabin. He didn't really hear what he said, but he dropped the traps and rushed over, imagining that Cecil was in danger of some sort.
Cecil sighed as he finished a few of his jobs. He looked around and realized that Tassus wasn't anywhere near him. He blinked and called, "Tassus?" Cecil walked, trying to find Tassus and he murmured, "I wonder where he went..." He walked back into the woods from which he came and yelled, "Hey Tassus! You in here?"
-here-
"I'm not upset to leave. I would not leave if I did not want to. I have decided to. I just want to make sure things will be fine when I return." He began giving Cecil orders, giving him the easier jobs that he would be more likely to know how to do already, while he left to gather his rabbit traps.
