Will smiled in return. "You did. You kept me safe. Now I just want to return to the dojo. That way you have no reason to restrian yourself, staying by me." she touched his cheek softly before turning her eyes to the road again.

((no need to apologize my Karlee, ok? *hugs you tightly* No worries, we can ghet it started again. ))

"Dont thank me...I havnt done anything right...but, I will be better from now on...I wont make anymore mistakes Will. I'll always be right here by your side now, like I wanted to be." he said, looking up to her, and smiling softly.

Will smiled slightly, standing up. "Thank you....."

Aion looked up to her, knowing that she wasnt thinking of this anymore. He nodded his head. "I'll go..." he said softly, as he stood up, feeling lost and alone again. He gave a sight sligh, as he smiled weakily to her. "Lets go back..." he said, as he looked back down.

Will nodded slowly, but was still hesitant. "I... Believe I do." she smiled weakly, playing with the two links that she helf in the small palm of her hand. The fire was beinning to die slightly, and clouds were forming overhead; it would durely rain by morning. She thought of Kyoshi, and were he was now. Was he thinking of them at all? She wondered whether or not if they would ever meet again. This was sfterall his adventure, and he was free to travel where he pleased, without feeling the need to drag her along. "I think we should return to the dojo," she said after a moment. She looked up at Aion, he eyes trying to read his. Would he go back? Or just leave her to return alone? She could fend for herself. Will instinctively touch the urumi at her waist. If she had to.

He noticed that her expression changed a little. He looked to her, the fire still dancing in his eyes. "Will...do you...remember now?" he asked, hoping that she did. He missed ehr so much, and wanted her to remember them when they were younger, to remember him...to remember the love.

Will smiled as he revealed the two missing links to the puzzle. "I knew you would..." she looked down, smiling. She had had the pieces since she was small, and never quite understood why she had them, though she always felt they held significance. "You kept your pieces," she whispered, finally remembering when she had gotten them years ago. She recalled sitting in the grass beneath the tree, sitting upon one of the roots penetrating the surface of the Earth. The dojo had been hidden in the short distance, having been through with training for the day. They were so young then, she had never thought that this would have come from such a day, her here sitting at a fire behind the inn. Will sighed contently, staring at Aion.

Aion looked to the two pices that she had...and knew right away of what it was. "he reached under his shirt, and pulled out his necklace, which held the last two missing rings. "...you still have your two rings...Will...' he said, a bit surprised, that she hadnt forgotten about them. He kept his two on a chain round his neck, close to his heart. He looked up, and into her eyes. "Will..." he said softly, waiting for her to speak. (like the idea *tackle hugs you* )

Will immediately felt it. The rush of everything came crashing down, and she understood. She dug deep into her kimono, uncovering a pouch of minute proportion, and tied with beads at the end of two strings. "Would you know about this then?" she spoke softly, and she intuitively believed she knew the answer, but she asked anyway. Her heart beat fast as she emptied the contents of the small bag into the palm of her hand. The lay small fragments of silver, each of an odd shape, but both gleaming in the light of the fire. "There seems to be a piece or two missing..." she looked up at him, her eyes searching, as she came closer to him.

His heart sank...she truly did forget everything that they had. He looked down a bit, at the pit of the fire. The old memories of them when they were younger haunting him now...the memories that she had forgotten. "..so...you really have forgotten about me...I..dont blame you...it's my fault you forgot themmm" he said, his voice soft, sad. "...we had grown up together...since we were little kids...our parents had known each other...and the day they were killed by the government...was the day the master found us...and the day that I swore to you that I;d always be by your side...Will-chan...because...I loved you...that was the first day i told that to you...we had grown closer that day...and more from then..." he said, his eyes closing, tears trying to fight out, but he was doing everything he could to hold them back. "I...I knew I broke the promise I gave you...all those years ago...but...I want to keep my word and be here now...even if you do hate me Will..." he gave a sigh, allowing the tears to stream down, as his eyes stared into the flames, hiw heart no longer able to hold the pain. "..even...when I was alone, during the last five years...I have never stopped loving you...even...if you had moved on...I loved you because you were always there for me, and cared for me, and showed me such a kindness that no one else had..." he stopped, closing hie eyes. he wouldnt speak anymore, she probably didnt want to be around him.

Will sat down where she was, numb from the new information. Though not everything made sense yet, it explained the majority of the confusion. She stared out into the flames, fire creating a glow on her cheeks, lighting her hair, the sparks like fireflies as they danced in the air. "I...Just have one question," she said tonelessly, her voice low. "Why me? Did we talk a lot? Or was I just another student, another crush?"

Aion sat in front of the flames, as they continued to dance in his eyes. He was lost now...he shoudnt have did any of that, now it would make her hate him more now, as if she didnt already. He had hurt her once, and wouldnt want to hurt her again. He sighed, staring into the flames wondering what she was thinking. He made ehr a spot so she could sit down.

Will closed her eyes against the flames that licked the air, melting away the barrier that had been built between the two of them. It came clearly in her mind, the night that she had forgotten. Or did not want to remember. She sighed as she thought this over. The night had begun to warm up, due to the fire and the blood running in her cheeks. She could hardly think of what to say. She stared at him for what seemed an eternity, trying to decipher the new emotion.

Aion felt as if it was that night, years ago. He looekd into her eyes deeply. he began to say the same words he did the first time. "Will...I'm sorry...but the chaos outside the safety of the dojo is starting to grow worse, more bloodshed spreading...more innocent lives lost...I know our training here isnt done yet...but I dont want to see more innocent tears fall across the land..." he said, as he gently put his left hand on her cheek, and began to speak softly, "...i will continue the training on my own, and make my very own style...but I must leave...to try and prevent more death..." he said, sadness in his eyes, and he continued to look deeply into hers. "...I have loved you since the day we emt, and I've always been there for you...my spirit wants to save the people of the land...but my heart wants to stay here with you...I know that you'll hate me for this...but one day I will return to you, I promise you with all the love in my heart, that I will and protect you again like I used to, and give you all the love I have." he said, as he rested his finger over his lips softly. "No words...and I know you'll shed tears...but please dont for me...I will returnh to you one day my love...and I promise when I do...that I wont ever hurt you again..." he said, looking down. He took a step forwards, and kissed Will on the forehead, and looked into her eyes. "We will be together one day...good bye..my Will...I love you..." Aion stopped for a second, realizing he just enacted the entire thing, with Will being there, as he said the same words, did the same actions. He turned red, and looked a way, as he bent down, and started to start the fire. "I...I'm sorry...forgive me..." he said, hating himself for kissing her forehead...he went to far. "...it doesnt matter now...it seems that you have fallen for Kyoshi...and...I'm happy for you Will...and no matter what...I'm always going to love you..." he said, as the fire started to smoke, and slowly start up. The flames dancing in his eyes.

Will tilted her head, setting down the wood on the pile, and standing up. She tried to position herself in what she believed to be a reinactment of that night. She looked deep into his eyes, trying to find what had been hidden from her. The night was cool; it was the same season as years before. She immediately felt her forehead. A light touch, warm and contrasting against the weather. It was a clear night, and her heart... hurt. Shock, and saddness. Will watched his thoughtfully, as she and Aion began to share a common memory.

Aion stoped for a second, as he remembered the same moment again and again. "It was night..." he said, as he put the wood on the pile, ans sat next to it. "...it was a beautiful night...and...you were standing right in forn of me...before I left..." he said, sadly, bt hoping it would start to come back to her.

Will stood up, gathering twigs on the ground at what she could reach from the branches above her. "No? What sort of terms did we leave on then?" She asked curiously. "Was it at night?"

He looked up to her. He took off his cloak, and wrapped it around her, as he began to prepare a fire next to them. As he gathered wood for it, he spoke softly. "I dont blame you for not remembering me Will....it was a long time ago...and I didnt really leave on good terms..." He said, placing the wood. "...I'm surprised that your even talking to me now..."

Will nodded, wrapping the large thin blanket around herself. She shivered, watching Aion closely. "I-I know that we w-went to the doj-jo together, b-but oth-th-th-" she broke off for a second. She adjusted her blanket tighter against her, it had gotten cold so quickly. "Why am I having a h-h-hard time rememb-bering you?"
