It is better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all. That is a phrase known through out the ages by all people. Everyone has fallen in love at some point even the most cruelest of men. Yet the gentlest of vampires has yet to find someone to love. Alexander never asked to be a vampire he was too kind, too friendly. But when he was turned on his eighteenth birthday his whole world changed. Forced to live in a dark castle far from the village nearby he sits staring out the window. Pondering about the strange aching in his heart which had stopped beating long ago. And as time passed rumors swirled around about him all making him seem more of a monster than the next. Tales that could not be told to children for fear they would never sleep again. But one day a young girl ventures to the castle door and lifts the bat shaped knocker. He watches this strange girl from the shadows amazed by what he sees in her eyes. But the most dangerous part is when he starts to fall in love with her. In love with a vampire slayer's sister.
