He nodded, still wincing slightly. "But what about the poison?"

Amanda pulled back, still half asleep. "Better?" She asked while reaching up to touch his face.

He kissed back, closing his eyes too.

Amanda closed her eyes and took a breath. She raised her head up to his and kissed him lovingly on th lips.

He moved towards her, wincing slightly.

Amanda opened her eyes slightly but did not pick up her head. "Come here." She said softly.

He moved his cloak slightly, revealing a scar running across his right shoulder. "Its poisoned, there's no antidote and no magic will affect it. Its a miracle it hasn't killed me already."

Amanda's brow furrowed. "...Why?" She asked sleepily but starting to wake.

"Please wake up," he said. "I..." he paused, realising he had to tell her the truth. "I'm dying."

Rupert watched her intently but she merely took a deep breath and turned her head to Edmund. "....Try again." Rupert insisted.

"Amanda...wake up, please," he said, sounding shaky.

"Just ask." He said plainly.

"How?" he asked, fighting to concentrate. "I'm out of ideas."

Rupert rubbed his face roughly with his hands. He picked up the old leather bound book and read more. He looked up from the pages with bright eyes. "It says here you two have some kind of link....We should test this...Can you call her out of sleeping somehow?"

He shrugged weakly. "I...I'm not sure..." He was struggling to stay awake.

Rupert sighed and sat down on the bed by Amanda. "You two aren't doing so well... Have you notice any sign of her getting better? or...Worse?"

"I...don't know," he said weakly, trying to stay awake.

Rupert rummaged through the library. Finally he found something that could be useful. He came back to his sister and started reading aloud. "Three spirits forever tied. Thus a balance of the woodland world." What do you suppose that means?" Rupert asked, looking up from the old leather book.

He stroked her hair, hoping Rupert would get back soon.

Rupert rolled his eyes as her went in search of a book that might help his sister. Amanda moaned and shifted in her sleep slightly.
