Serpent's Fangs

Settings & Atmosphere

Their is a coven of vampire, werewolf, and demon slayers that live in this city. They walk among everyday people, live everyday lives. They're symbol is the one mythical creature that they do not slay - that they have respected for centuries - the basalisk. Many of them are bonded to one of these deadly creatures, the long serpentine body of which, can become smaller and hide on their personage... It is said that their is an ancient pact with these creatures as well as the dragons who have long ago dissapeared, but the Slayers of the Fang are more mercenaries than anything else now, working for those who will pay them the most and killing whatever and whoever they are hired to.
War is breaking out in the city now and more and more officials have been drifting to the slayer's to ask their help - especially those of the Serpent's Fang.
Many of the slayers are more than happy to slay the mythical creatures that these humans now fight against.
Too bad that it's said their founder isn't human... She's a vampire too, but no one will probably ever know that...
What makes it worse for the humans is that somehow, all technology has ceased to work - including guns and other firearms. They're left with more primitive weapons.
Slayers could be their only hope... If it weren't for the fact that it's their falt the war is starting. The mythicals were only doing what was necessary for them...
Now the plot unfolds and what happens between teh slayers and others is up to the individuals...

Kas rolled over onto her stomach and gazed upon the city, a common theif running down the street and taking refuge in the alley below her.
She smiled and jumped down skillfully, landing on her feet without a sound.
She stalked toward the man, grabbing him from behind, him dropping what he had been carrying as her fangs sank into his neck.
The sweet and slightly metalic taste of blood gushed into her mouth, telling her she had instantly hit the artery.
She continued drinking the warm liquid until no more came from his skin, even after she bit into him multiple times.
She finally let his now rinkled body fall to the ground, his face twisted with the pain and horror of her grabbing him and stealing his blood and life.
She let out a low chuckled before returning to her rooftop, but paced restelssly around the edges.

Ryhan's steps carried her down towards the bowls of the Slayer's Haven where those from the Serpent's Fangs would be waiting. ~Slayer, when we round the next bend, I wish to change,~ the black basalisk told her silently.
-Of course, Hyrahn,- she told her basalisk. It was often that they names of the creatures had all the same letters of those they were bonded to, but in a different order. Ryhan gently stroked the black head of Hyrahn, being careful of his ivory spines.

<<sorry, its my real name and it drives me crazy when the proper form is spelled with 2 S's, Kassie is the only thins with 2 s's. Kas-one. im sorry :P jsut one of my buttons that irritate me. no worries :P>>

Kasandra lay on the roof top, the light of the moon reflecting off her snow white skin, it's surface seeming to glow and sparkle.
She gazed up to the large moon, her hazel eyes as cold as her skin, and shining jsut the same.
She prayed it would be night forever, the day time causing her to hide herself inside for hours, bored and helpless if something where to some or prevent her from taking shelter at dawn.
She yawned, her arms stretching out, her fangs visable while her mouth was wide open.
How she missed the taste of fresh blood, only recenly living off the already stale remains of other's prey.

Ryhan stepped through the tunnel that led to the Slayer's Haven. Yes, the Slayers had a haven, just like the vamps. Her hand held her glaive loosely and around her neck was twined a black snake - like creature. The main difference between this creature and a snake was that it wasn't always this small... while the other was that it had a line of glistening ivory spikes down its back. Ryhan smiled at the creature who hissed. It could see perfectly in the darkness.
One had to be careful not to meet its gaze or be frozen until it looked away. Locking eyes wiht a basalisk deadly business. Ryhan smiled again, closing her eyes.
A slayer bound to a basalisk could communicate on a telepathic level with the creature and now she did, seeing what it saw, letting it guide her steps flawlessly.
Ryhan had been training to be a Slayer since she was old enough to walk and hold a weapon, though a lot of hte training had been psychological - especially for one who had been pegged as a possibility for bonding with a basalisk.
A black basalisk was a high ranked one and rare. Only a Copper could out rank one and was rarer than the others... But basalisk rank meant nothing. It only meant something among the serpentine creatures.
