Heyo, Arwen. I'm the author of "With a Failure's Hands."
First of all, by your kind recommendation, I believe I'll delete the first line. I agree with you on that. Another comment submitted later spoke of how she believed that this could not relate to anyone. She obviously didn't read yours so I, personally, knew that someone would. :)
And the IM-speak. Yeah, I'll change "w/" to "with." When typing fast, I tend to shove one or two in so I can save time.
Also, I truly WAS tempted to mold it into a short story. Maybe I will. I'm glad someone else had a similar vision.
