there's an interesting story i read, told by a woman who is in a mental asylum. she said there was once an evil wizard who wanted to destroy a Kingdom so he poisoned the main drinking well and everyone who drank from it would become mad. during the following day, all the inhabitants of the kingdom drank and did indeed become mad. the only ones who didn't drink were the King and his Queen for they had their own drinking well which the wizard hadn't been able to poison.
soon, seeing how insane his people now were, the King attempted to control the population by creating new laws on governing security and public health, but the policemen and inspectors had also drunk the poisoned water and thought the King's edicts were absurd and resolved to take no notice of them.
when the inhabitants of the kingdom heard about these decrees, they became convinced that the King had gone mad and was giving nonsensical orders. they marched on the castle and called for his abdication.
in despair, the King was all set to step down from his throne, but his Queen said, "Let us go drink from the communal well. Then, we will be the same as them.".
and that was what they did; they went and drank the water of madness and immediately started talking nonsense. the King's subjects repented at once - now that the King was displaying such wisdom, why not let him continue ruling the country?
and so, Bonneh, even though everyone in the Kingdom was mad, they were all the same and by definition became normal. only the few who thought differently or chose to live in their own individual way, or said or did things that couldn't be explained to the majority were labelled 'mad' and locked away where they wouldn't be able upset the norm.
i found this story very thought-provoking and i guess i wanted to share it with someone. you mentioning Kings reminded me of it.
anyhow, onto more important matters - STALKING. you know i always stalk you, Bonneh, even when you think you're alone >.> i just wanted to start from scratch again and see who noticed.
