Gee, you know it's the fluctuation of emotions that gives their occurrence meaning. Just as thinking is a progressive state so are emotions. If we were constantly happy to the extreme would it be as enjoyable as its temporal fluctuations make it seem? For some happiness is a vicarious state brought about by objective interaction with things other than themselves. Although I'm all for having my environment (social or physical) cause me pleasure I don't believe these events would be nearly as much fun if I didn't have a joy welling from within. Granted this "joy from within" is a relative state. I'm sure the successfully tyrannical dictator is somewhat overwhelmed by their apparent satisfaction with self. I know that the more efficiently organized I am, the more intellectual acuity I obtain, the easier joy from within becomes. Self satisfaction from successful pursuit of goals is often more enduring than that which is obtained vicariously. As for happiness which lasts forever, I'm not sure it exists. I am a finite and temporal being and, as much as it irks, quite possibly not destined for eternal life. Don't get me wrong, I could like some blissfully euphoric and ethereally sublime life after death but I see little or no scientific proof of this postulates existence.

Yeah that's how I feel, if I don't write it down and vent it through words, then it really conflicts with my mind, thank God, I found Art, and Poetry. Thanks for stopping by and reading "Things I've Seen"
