"That's the way things come clear. All of a sudden. And then you realize how obvious they've been all along."
Things are happening again. The world took a jump forward and forgot to drag me along with it. So now I'm walking along in it's wake, carefully surveying all that has happened, and laughing at the irony. If only people could see things the way I do, what a comedic masterpiece we could share. That reminds me of a fortune cookie I got a while back. It said "Life is tragedy to those who feel, and a comedy to those who think." It makes you wonder, what's life like for those who simply don't give a damn?
So now, a day late and a dollar short, I'm walking out of step with the world. From back here you see things for what they really are. You see people at their worst, and know who they really are. You can see yourself, and for a wonderful moment, there's no one else in the entire world that you'd rather be. These are the defining moments in life. You see the world, you see yourself, and everything makes sense for the first time in ages. You understand what you have to do, and how you have to do it. And you know that although the going will be tough, if you want it badly enough, you'd better get going.
It all comes down to this: friends lie, lovers deceive you, and family's not always the embodiment of all it's name implies. When it comes down to the wire, and you're luck's run out, the grass is dead on both sides of the fence, and you realize that you are your greatest ally, and have been all along.
