So I just wrote something. It's adapted from Neruda so I it's not entirely orginal but it's a start. Funny thing- how love inspires you.
One of my favorite poems of Pablo Neruda is "Your Feet".
Recently, I find myself falling in love but because of logistics and wisdom dating isn't going to be an option for at least another 5 months. I find that the boundaries of not being able to be intimate have made me find the strangest loopholes. A graze here, a glance there. I steal what I can without crossing the line. Last night, after spending time with him and not being able to do anything but graze feet I remembered Pablo's poem and it meant more to then it ever had. I decided to rewrite it since his is written to a woman. It is in my own words but the format is the same and the last lines-Ooooh, the last lines are what hit home for me. I am so grateful for Pablo's voice and for him putting words to heart.

Your Feet
Since I can not graze your face
I graze your feet.
Your feet of arched bone,
Your anchored feet.
I know that they support you,
and that your adroit weight
rises upon them.
Your legs and your chest,
the cleft of your chin,
the sockets of your eyes
that have just filled with Him.
your immaculate mouth,
your brown locks,
my virile tower.
But I love your feet
only because they walked
upon the earth and upon
the wind and upon the waters,
until they found me.
