Thank you for your comments on "Danny Boy's Demise".

I think you're right; a lot of people are in a place similar to what the poem describes. I wrote it after hearing about a mid-30s man that committed suicide after he put his children to bed (his name is made-up). I wondered what might have driven him to do such a thing. Life can be awfully cruel, as most of us have experienced. But is it really ever that bad?
