The Lass Frae Auchtermuchty, is still spinning her yarn, and wearing her dress of Persian silk.....and she is still waiting for her prince charming to pass her way.
Will he come ?.....who knows, maybe he will, or maybe he will not.....wonderment is a big part of the longing and yearning for this thing we call love.
Thanks for the recent comment. I will certainly say 'congratulations' to you for your recent award.....but I am really not surprised. And I have no doubt that it will be the first of many to come your way.
You have exceptional talent young lady, and you are destined for big things. Enjoy the moment.....and make sure to learn all you can from mixing with people in the writing fraternity.....but do not forget who you are, what you are, and what is in your heart....that is where real writing comes from.
And heyyyy.....there is nothing wrong with staunchy traditional verses. A writer should always write to reflect what they see, hear, feel and think.....and not what the current trend or fashion is.....ask yourself....did Emily Dickinson write to please the the current mood or fashion ?????.....she wrote from the heart and soul...irrespective of the year or era.
Well....given tha chance, I guess we all have a bit of Tam lurkijng inside us somewhere...haha.
And I also think, that of all the compliments that you have thrown at me...by you saying that you think of me when you read traditional Scottish poetry......now that is a REAL compliment in my book.
I have told you before, and I will tell you again, you have the potential to become a top class writer, and as long as you apply yourself....you will achieve that....I have no doubt.
Ha ha, yes indeed I have read the translated version of ' Tam o Shanter'. It sure is an epic tale of Tam and his ways of life. Not sure though if I am much like him.....haha....but what I do know, is that Robert Burns was surely one of the greats poets of all time.
What I would give to have just a little of his talent.
