yeah... you have a good point about the relativity of compliments being pain free
and the thing about writing, when we write about personal feelings or experience, is that we can only see it from our perspective. it takes someone who knows nothing of the situation to bring a new insight to the piece so thats all i am... a person that is not you and unrelated to everythng.
as for formatting and all... this site is a killer to make it all work sometimes but thats ok... once you know the basics its like a whole new world is opened up to you!
im gonna go check out "more" again before i set up my world for bombardment (i have 8 kids aged 11 - 15 coming to stay at my place the weekend... we started organising this long before my delusions of stuntdriving
its gonna be an interesting weekend to say the least haha
Yea, I'm not a fan of overusing ellipses... in poetry... haha.
I'll normally write something and edit it straight after I've written it... little things mostly, then post it, and perhaps tweak it, but very minimally--only a word here and there shaved or added (I'm very particular). And after a while... it really does just come straight out... and you move onto the next poem. It either works or it doesn't, you know?
Thanks for stopping to comment on "Inkblots" and "My People". Yes, the 2nd. was written with a bith of cynicism, and that's what I feel toward a people living in a land going downhill while they are concerned mostly with some overpaid athlete moving an object across an area into a hoop, endzone, outzone, net, or whatever. Today's teens already hold a sense of hopelessness and frustration, so perhaps they are even more cynical than I, despite my greater age.
first things first dude!
you cannot be giving me a "calibur"!! to me that means guns and well... im not allowed to even play with bread and butter knives on the best of days
anyways... now that we got that one sorted hehe
formatting on this site is quite an effort.
spacing is easy enough though
to indent you type . indent . (without the spaces between the periods and start/end of the word and your line will be indented once. if you want more than one indent (which i did for the third line of the example in my comment on your piece you have to type . indent .. indent .
(and i say that not coz i think your dumb but because i ALWAYS forget the second period and wonder why it doesnt work )
an indent is 7 spaces in. if you want less or more than one indent you gotta use
. sp4 . which means 4 spaces obviously...
if you want to write this font or this its pretty much the same idea as spacing except you have to say when you wanna end the different font.
. b . is bold
. i . is italics
and to end the font you type . ef .
all with no spaces.
mostly just have fun and experiment. the best thing about it is if you screw it up you can always edit it to either make it work or completely give up and remove your attempts at special effects for the day (which also happens to me on occaison haha)
as for being weird...
feel free to come over and weird my page out any time you wanna
i think youre great!
(PS: continue to be proud of being 43! prime number ages are SUPERIOR! i just had one last year and its something like 5 til my next one damnit! )
your message on my page...
youve got me intrigued

and my comments are killer long and i am not sure whether they are useful or not so i appreciate you stopping by and telling me it was to an extent.
