just keep at it...i had the same thing for so many years...my dad was an engineer...saw black and white...nothing in between...didn't understand it...and mostly my mom not either..and basically said for a long time "it's a nice hobby but don't take it seriously"
but i did and i do...and much has come from it..they have changed their tune...but just stick with it....it's in you and you must do it.
