Thanks for taking the time to read my poem David and Bathsheba! The said line 'could' be misinterpreted. But bestiality is not the idea there. Shepherd is the priest or preacher, endowed ewe is the "endowed maid". No pun intended. The use of Shepherd and Ewe is necessitated because that's the way the biblical story went. Thanks again. Quoting the story here for your reference. "The rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds. But the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him.
