    and being able to see it either way..that makes it even more universal, and an even better poem than if it could only be seen in one respect.

    Thanks for comment on "Albatross". It is a sonnet that I pared down to short lines - I often do that and it usually works!

    I guess you have to recognize the Wandering Albatross' life-cycle, then it becomes a clear story and a metaphor for some people.

    They breed on an islet in the ocean, grow up and fly all over the ocean, often around the world, without going near any land. After one or two years, they return to their birthplace for breeding, in huge gatherings; then away voyaging again. I used to see them when they followed ships I was on.

    well thank you a lot for commenting on my poem..... spelling errors gets me all the time...and no problem...i hate how my wensite is going down... it is so sad :( you should get on more

    I'm so glad you found the humor in "Poetry is my Mistress"! It was intentional. I was kind of poking fun at those men who claim their wives don't understand them so they cheat. I was also poking fun at myself. I'm happy you stopped by!
