Thanks for comment on 'Easter joke'. You have the same sort of background as me - taught some christianity when young but not believing the stories! But the religions as a collection of spiritual cultures do conserve some of our best human needs. I like finding out about religions .... oddly enough, it seems to be people who believe most strongly in their religion's stories who are the least likely to understand their meanings, and to learn and teach good things. That's the real joke!
Hey, Matt. Thanks for commenting on "The View from Here", but where did I refer to Man's tool building on the canyon? Did you mean the mallets and cudgels? Those were merely metaphors for nature's building tools.
Thank you for your comment on 'Watched Pots.' I definitely agree with you, the firefighting line is not good. Matter of fact, I think I'll probably end up rewriting the entire last stanza. It's not on par with the rest of it, in my opinion.
Anyways, thanks again for commenting.
Matt, thanks for your comments on my poems "Washday" and "Zamba". Experimenting with my style? Nah. My style depends entirely on how I'm feeling at the moment. Sometimes it gets all confused and then the poem just doesn't work.
Also, thanks for your PM about Loss. I must have written that poem a half dozen different times before I got it where I liked it. My husband was getting tired of reading it.
