I've a hundred submissions now and I wonder if perhaps it would be a good time to wrap it up. I've kept a dream alive that just maybe there might be a future for me in writing. Not necessarily serious poetry but maybe greeting cards or jingles or some kind of lucrative endeavor that would allow me the time to write of love and life and yet pay the bills. I guess it was kind of naive of me, like when I was younger and thought maybe I could make a living playing rock & roll. I've given about 7 or 8 of my poems to publishers for books of poetry (yes they do publish your poem even if you don't buy the book) hoping that I might arouse someones interest in my work but it hasn't happened. I'll think about it a little longer before I toss in the towel but I'm leaning toward packing it in.
