thank you for taking the time to read my poem. Im glad that you were able to identify with it. The woods present us with solitude never found on a buy city street
By your read of "Cauticals" I am happy there is someone(s) out there peeved at human inactivity by believing that nature is too powerful for human correction. God who gave us power over nature knew that humans in the ingenious ability He gave man could subdue the earth. If not He would not have put man on earth. No government, even since the establishment of government, has ever given more than a pittance to the study and application of The Natural Sciences. At present The United States government leaves such to nonprofit organizations by giving only one-tenth or less money through grants.
The US government and other governments should establish a Cabinet post with monies enough to perforn what is needed to subdue the earth.
Have you ever heard of "Get Fuzzy"? It is a comic in the paper that I find very funy. The focus is often on politics, and in a somewhat reacent one the man (the I forget his name, but he owns the cat and dog the cartoon centers around) is debating his cat. His sign says DC'Rat wile Bucky's (the cat) sign says RE'Lic
I thought that was rather clever.
I also was amused by another one where the man get a D&D shirt that says: Halflings are whole fun.
Thank you for your comments on "The Contradiction". I am glad that it was able to get you to think a little bit, as that was one of my goals when I set out to write it. I don't believe that you should help others, if you only do it because you are driven by the guilt of not helping. If you want to help others, then make sure it is what you want to do. But it seems like it is for you...so bravo! :)
Thanks for the comment on 'To-Do List'.
Your interpretation is pretty close to my intentions, except for the last part. In the 'throwing stones over shoulders' section, I was trying to say that we never grow up to our full potential (going back to the concept of anticlimax). I do like your interpretation though, very interesting.
Thanks again!
