Thanx - 'first stars'. I'll clarify the first bit by adding what it's about after the title. I thought it might need that, but i was too stingy. I think your comment is brilliant ... concise and right on. Gonna study your comments. I'm a bit of a waffler meself.
I just noticed your age ... I'm 63 & hadn't even discovered poetry by 20. But after years getting no help except hifalutin Critical Method, a friend finally told me to read poems twice, and the first time take everything absolutely literally. Now I can't help writing verse that's best read like that! This es place is so good: free verse at last, and real poets reading it, and real feedback. Thanks for your comment!
Another Bangali here? Strangely, never seen you around here before. Might be due to the act that I haven't been to this site for the better half of a year...
I did hear that it is poor, but I also heard that they have gorgeous mosques. I hope I do get to visit some day. I think that it would be awesome. I love to travel and stuff.
That is just like how it is in South Africa. It depends on what family you were lucky enough to be born into. I guess I was pretty lucky because I had a nice house and nice cars, but if you drive a couple of miles down you would find a large area where many people who are stuck in poverty live. A family of 10 would live in a 9x9 house made of scraps of metal and cardboard. It's horrible. I guess knowing what else was out there made my family and I more grateful. My mother always taught us never to boast.
Hello, thanks for the comment on The Last One. Yeah I hadn't thought of an epitaph for the guy, brave though he was.
Also, thank you very much for the feedback on Running Into Darkness. I've forgotten when I wrote it, but anyway it could do with some revising! And no, it's not related to the Blair Witch Project, interesting though that is.
Cheers
