    Mood: The Usual
10:59 and i wonder if writing, or more so, the need for writing will come back to me. maybe i will find myself sitting under a great tree, somewhere in scotland, where a mist obscures my view. maybe the mist doesn't obscure it too much to see a hare run for cover. there are hares in scotland, right? maybe i only see patches of green, or heather, or thistle, or the leg of my man in a kilt (if i could ever get him in one). maybe the sound of pipes come through, an imagined mixed into real.

somewhere, i lost my voice. not sure why.

Thanks for the reply and taking the time out of a jack daniels sabatical ha. You know I often think its nicer to write these linds of things after a drink or two anyway, like personally I dont have to be wondering like "oh I hope they get what I mean" I just throw it out there. Im actually recuperating from a long night out yesterday, and have been pretty miserable all day so your message was cheering. (Is cheering a word?).

Anyhow yeah I agree about talking to people. I think one of the reasons things are i. Turmoil at the moment is because people have stopped sharing their stories, and their perspectives, and theyve stopped listening to the other side. It really is the only way to learn, even of you dont agree with them. In this age, to disagree feels like the ending of a friendship. Sad really.

But no Im not familiar with that type of music, but I looked it up and I liked it. I have heard some bluegrass but I wouldnt be knoledgable on the subject. Its really cool you read my stuff that way though. Im down with sounding like that ha.

    Hope you are well anyway.

PS: you may get a few typos in here as Im trying to get to grips with my phone, hopefully its legible at least in places.

Ill say also in relation to the poem, that way of life seems apealing. I mean two people sharing a bike, or two friends or any make up. I knew some lady growing up who was like I guess youd say a biker bitch but she really wasnt that into it she ultimately wanted him to just be consistent and he was all over the place with his big man complex.

You know thats obviously a simplification to both him and her. But for the sake of the conversation, she probably liked him because of that attitude of like go where you want etc, and theres a part of it thats true. I think with these ways of life what kills them is they become standerdised and reactionary. Like theres nothing wrong with wanting to just be on the back of the bike with some hard riding dude. And theres nothing wrong with having your own bike. Or whatever permutation you want with it. But from what I see at times, and I dont want to deny people their own responsibility or power, is a type of role-play which is exhilarating but has the downside of being restrictive, possibly, in certain points. We have to remember too that in Ireland, though there may be a biker scene it is imported ultimately. We are a small country and it doesnt have the same feeling one imagines as going off long distance because you can reach the end of this country very easily.

But then in no way do I write it off, because I quite admire any culture in a way, especially people who just "love to ride" whoever they may be. I think thats what its supposed to be. And I imagine thats what it is for some. Some of the coolest groups Ive met over here have actually been in that scene. I remember I was at a market at a time in Waterford and all these Bikers came to town and some had their girls with them on their bikes and some were girls with their own bikes and so on and I just thought wow, what a pack they are. Seemed really cool. And afterward obviously the thought-provoking thing from an outsiders perspective of "where are they going?".

I love that idea. But Id love it more on a big continent or something.

I dont drive or anything at all really. But one can appreciate. I think most peoples experience with that culture has sounded positive to me. And its a nice outlet away from society. Anything thats stereotyped or parodied to that degree is usually providing some kind of deep and relatable yearning for people. I appreciate anything that does that.

    Hullo there.

Honestly i don't know it was silly of me. I've been having a strange few weeks, and I liked your poem, but it was also late and I din't feel I articulated myself well, or something. The jaffa cakes thing was like... I sound a bit crazy ha. But I had in my head a comparison I wanted to expand on I just didn't have the poem or poet to hand. I wanted to rewrite but don't know if this is happening with everyone but this site is breaking down a little, at least on my end. Perhaps it's my browser but I notice stuff like when I sigh in, the page won't work, then I press back and I'm actually signed in. Little snags like that. I'm sorry to have deleted it though, I meant to just add to it a little and then the whole thing was gone. So i was like "ah here I give up" ha. But I'm glad you got to see it anyhow.

I did see you were in for a change of scenery as I was on DBs page reading some of his stuff, or whatever was there to read. Was just in doing the rounds I guess, but it sounds very exciting on your end. Glad to hear you're adventuring ha. And so close to my kneck of the woods haha. I tell you one day someone from here is going to end up in Dublin, Ireland and you'll have to take back hand-written post for everyone on here.

I'm well, I finished a four year course so am a bit listless, but I've been writing a lot more now that I don't have to use that part of my brain for essays and what have you. I didn't really intend to keep writing poetry actually to be honest. But ever since I stopped it's like now and again I note that I AM changing, and I will always want to write so there's no need to worry so much or beat myself up. I'm a lot more easy about it all now. And it's fun to just read stuff by alive people also I will say, rather than the dead greats!

So I find I'll always pay a visit back here. And I'm always delighted to hear people are doing well whether its writing or otherwise.

Wish you all the best on your trip to Scotland. I've honestly never traveled much, but I think it'd be great over there, and would like to go some time. It may even be conceivably wetter than where I live!

    Mind yourself:)
