Although I am writing daily on other sites, Elite is still my home. I love to come back and see familiar faces and meet a few new people. Some of you were kids when you first came to the site. Now you are adults making families and the tone of what is on the board has changed again.
I've enjoyed tagging along and seeing some of you spread your wings and fly.
My own writing has morphed and matured along with yours. A great deal of what I write leans to the sensual side and is not posted here because we have no filters.
If you are interested in spoken word poetry, or just a place where you can read your own, check out World Poetry Open Mic which is a live internet radio show that hosts through YouTube on Friday nights at 9:00 CMT at Http://worldpoetryopenmic.net You can also check us out on facebook if you are interested. We have poets from across the globe joining in through Skype.
You are welcome and please take you time :) Hmm Shadow Writer? That sounds so familiar Is he on Instagram or another poetry site? I do adore dark poetry. Your work is awesome I love reading your pieces!
I understand. I was an alter boy in my church on Sundays and bagged groceries five days a week at the local grocery store. Opened my eyes up to how people are saints on Sundays and...well...people you wouldn't want to associate with the rest of the week. Best to just worship on your own in your own way, but that is just my experience.
Hi Just stopping by to say thanks. You're right about the "arrival," I'll probably change that to make in clearer that the poem starts in media res.
The rock with the well... personal choice maybe. I struggled a bit with that strophe, and it shows, but for now it says mostly what I want it to say: a relationship that's un-ended, that kind of desperate hope that the inevitable won't happen.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read through and give feedback, I do appreciate it. I have some small strands of poems floating around but haven't written anything in quite some time. I've been trying to focus on screenplay writing, which is going about the same.
I take it as the highest compliment that when you read my pieces about faith you see just that and not preaching. It is a battle for me to be able to talk about this around friend and family that do not have any faith, when it is my desire to explain something intimate, they hear only condemnation. It is one solution to write about it and share it in a place that I do not have to worry about making someone feel bad or come off as preachy. I love getting your take on my writing. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.
Happy New year to you. Thank you for stopping and for your kind thoughts and recognition. It seems impossible to tell her each day, how I'd rather be with her, than anywhere else...but I'll try. All the best to you, in 2016.
Thank you for your thoughts on this piece. I agree cancer can be very difficult to cope with when you are the helpless one watching. Images never leave, but what was so profound about this write was that it was a real dream. I never actually saw my friend in this state. Those images were completely created in a dream state. I was really trying to convey that throughout the piece. Take the reader on the journey of the dream. I also just wanted to release those thoughts and images because I felt so sad when I woke up. I will definitely change I to I'd . Thank you. 😊
