I am The Poor Man's Poet for just that reason and more. Yes I write for my friends. and get a few customers too.
My co-work call me their go-to guy when they want something nice for their wives and girlfriends. You should know that Mother's Day is near. Hear in the U.S.
It is a special day where Mother's get Flowers and gifts, candy and (Mother's Day cards) and thats where I come in a poet. Who can put their Names in a poem.
Something written just for them or so they think. I short I make Money.
I ask my co-workers and customer to tell me something kind of personal about their
wife or girlfriend and work it into the poem.
I write for Myself, Husbands, wives, and Holidays.
I am glad you like my work enough to add it your list of fav's (The Other Lost Half Of Yourself) was sometheing floating around in my head so I wrote it down. It had no end. It keeps repeating itself like a chant. Your welcome you to play with it and see what you can do with it.

As I told one let me tell you what really happened on how (Dream Stream)came about.
As memories go "back in the day"
my girlfriend Cookie and I went to the movies and I said to her, Let's get the refreshments on the way in because once the flick starts I don't wanna have to get up to get you something. But you know women, She had to have hep popcorn and a large drink. So I went and got them and when got back to her I gave the bucket of popcorn and pored the drink into her popcorn. And we never went to the moives after that.
The Poor Man's Poet.
P.S. Thanx for recomending my work
I'd like to heaar what you think about my
(Spoken Word Poem)
Does all poetry have to have some sort of rhyme scheme or pattern to 'flow' really? I think that most of my work isn't written for others to ponder and pick out 'scholarly' wrong doings or improper fashion. I'm not saying that I disagree with your comment, I'm just saying to me, poetry that is written quickly from images that spin around in your head and is not refurbished and mulled over, is more real than works done once then two, three, four times over etc...Yes/No?
