I really agree with you about the comments about rhyme in Before You End The Search but it was a case of not wanting to cut things simply because I wanted it in there, rather than the good of the poem. I've revised it now and only made a few changes but I think they improve the poem tenfold, so thanks a lot for the honest crit. It's a bit too rare around here sometimes.
And I'm glad you liked Ponderings.... I think the fact that the other was the first thing I'd written in a while and this was the second meant I'd loosened up a little and wrote more naturally. I'm not sure if I could make it more specific. I am working on some revisions though so we'll see what comes from that. I do agree though that a more specific character tends to invite more involvement from the reader/audience, I'm just not too sure I could bring myself to it. We'll see anyways...
