    dotsCindy Lee Pt 2dots

As you pluck the leaves from the invisible tree
Cindy lee, I watched you from my balcony
As you planted yellow flowers and danced by the mill
I aimlessley wandered through the songs you have spilled
We pushed the cotton deep into our ears
breaking the drums and the skin
to drown out your woes and swallow our sins
Please stop wiping your tears on your small yellow teeth
Your sweet little eyes, so much older than me
They had died when we handled you with our foolish laughter and care
They died and still linger near the tree's and the fair
So i beg of you to stitch your eyes shut and not see
What ugly words we made up, what ugly things we have been.
You would lock your fingers in each hole and
Continue to smudge the beads on the shore
while we drew your face in the sand and
scratched your heart on the skin that you grow
Shamelessley we contracted our leftover names
Painting your crushed fingers and pale yellow face
Our curious breaths and dirty pictures drawn on your hands
Of your mother, with no bones, under a cieling fan.
