Description: I've never submitted before so... be gentle! This was just a musing I had, I know it's not the greatest but hope you find it interesting.
How Soon the Extraordinary Becomes Banal -------------------------------------------
How soon the extraordinary becomes banal
I reflect as I walk alongside the canal
That I once thought pretty
And yet now barely see.
If it takes ten seconds to open a web-page
We are prone to complain and fly into a rage
Thus dormant indifference
‘Comes active impatience.
But most dangerous of all complacencies, I say
Is to forget the merits of a person and pay
With loneliness and pain.
So don’t be afraid to love every day.
True feelings, and I do agree, we all want the internet now, like yesterday, money faster then that, and love forever. Too bad it's not like that in the real world. Maybe more people should write poetry and realize how good things are, and then read your poetry to enjoy what they have. Very good write.
