    dotsThey Say...dots

    The older, the wiser
    They say…
So why am I so confused?
    It’s all games.
    He’ll only hurt you
    Leave you cold and used.
    But they don’t see
    His gentle eyes
    Always smiling with me.
    So they turn, they run
    Leaving me alone
    I turn to him.
    Do people change?
I thought I was the same
    They disagree.
    Do friends change?
    I thought we were ok
    But they’re not there.
    Sounds like my fault,
    Play the blame game
    I think I lose.
    Feel like its wrong…
    To be happy
    Without them there.
    Wish I could say…
    But my words hurt
    Without intention.
    Now I’ve fallen,
    They are far away…
And he is next to me.

i like this write. it's difficult when your friends or family can't get along with your boyfriend. and vice versa. and then they'll say that you have changed because you picked him over them. i've never understood that kind of jealousy. but i have had it aimed at me, and i know exactly where you're coming from.

i like the way the rhyme scheme doesn't continue throughout, and the way the lines aren't all quite the same length. i think it helps emphasize the feeling of ambiguity.

    keep it up! xoxo
