101 Merrytree Lane -------------------------------------------
At 101 Merrytree Lane
Up against the fence
It was forever so hence
That blood soaks the ground
Where I found
I was at the service
Of my poor dog Kurtis
At 101 Merrytree Lane
Wow, I really liked it. I'm guessing its a true story, but I could be wrong. I love the fact that your poem has flow, and the rhymes are not forced in any way.
"Where I found I was at the service Of my poor dog Kurtis"
Err, I was just thinking that "I was at the service" should be cut out. It doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. Did you have a service for your dog?
If so, it would be easier to understand if the stanzas were seperated. I really do like how you don't reveal exactly what happened until the second to last line. You're kind of guessing what is going throughout the poem.
