Aw, this is so sweet. I really like the ice cream part and the Natasha Bedingfield part. I think I would add something along the lines of weekends being miserable without them.
I am adding this to faves, even though I have no one to 'miss' ...
So true and cleverly put :)

Finny boy, it's beautiful, and so true. Reminded me of my father when my mom left us for good. As annoying as it was, I can relate to it. Well, ironicy of all this was, I accidently clicked on your page for one and for two, I was thinking of someone that this fits to . . . Go Finny boy! *Sends you a muffin*

Okay, so the part about Natasha Bedingfield nearly had me falling out of my chair. I wasn't expecting that at all. I mean, I sing it...a lot...while thinking about...

Well, lil bro, you've done it again. You are the kid who keeps throwing a metaphorical stick into my literal world.

    My top ten:

    1. Times the amount of times you tell yourself you are going to stop thinking about them by ten, and that is how many different things make you think of them.
    2. You keep seeing their face.
    3. You look up lyrics, just to find a song that says just how much you miss them.
    4. Nothing feels right. Your favorite chair has a lump, your favorite song is off key, and your dog sounds like he is talking to you...and you're talking back.
    5. You keep telling people you aren't thinking about that person. (You were the one who brought it up)
    6. One page of your journal is covered, top to bottom, with nothing but their name.
    7. You start watching sad movies.
    8. Listening to sad songs.
    9. Looking at pictures of them.
    10. Are glad someone else posted a "Missing Them" poem, before you did.

      * 1. ... there're (or there are) ...

    (natasha beddingfield haha)

Curious to know why you started at zero. It's kind of odd...

      10. You are insanely crazy, and realize that they are not real, even after you wrote such a list about them lol

I liked this one also, and tis very true. I have felt this way about several people, BUT I ate vanilla ice cream not strawberry. lol

    Great read/write.

Some of that almost made me laugh until I realized how true it is. Number 10 would have to be my favorite though. Very good point.
I'm sorry I can't make this longer, but I have the worst headache EVER, and staring at the screen definitely isn't helping haha.

    Good stuff.

      10. not even rational criticism could make you miss them less.

    i know this feeling.

this is true, i think of stuff like this all the time, i am always confused and you def know you miss a person when they are always on your mind....
i don't get the vanilla to you coke comment is it kinda like a nick name like thing, or the fact that without them you feel like your incomplete?
    n e way, good write

Damn, are you psychic or something?

I'm faving this one. Definatly. (Sorry about my spelling. It's 2:47 in the morning. ><)

I really like the "Vanilla to your Coke" part. Very creative, indeed...
Number 0, 1, and 2 are definatly right here. I miss somebody very much and I do those things, what it seems like, 24/7. ><
    I'm all sad now. TT
    But I really liked it.

Wow, I miss tons of people, and I never do any of these things, besides 2 and 3, maybe that's just me....

    I guess I'm a Dr. Strangelove.

    Wishing for more

Awww. This is so cute and so true. There isn't much to say about it except that you captured how most people feel after a breakup or during a long break between seeing that person. I've been there a few times, especially with the blog comments, thinking about them all the time, and eating strawberry icecream.

wow...this is so true, i was reading this and suddenly realised when i got about 1/2 way through them i was sitting there going yep, yep to them all in regards to a friend i dearly miss. Great work in thinking up this and then also putting it out there.

The worst way to miss someone is to sit next to them knowing you'll never have them- Anon
Quite unexpected structure for a poem! A list of things. Well I was certainly amused by this, and I hope those people miss you too.
Otherwise I have nothing else to say.

Oh wow.. that was so cute. I guess those are really what we do when we miss somebody.. At least it was close to what I did o.O.

You're right, when you miss somebody, you always think about them. It hurts, thinking about them all the time, but you can't do anything about it.

I don't wanna go deep into my personal life.. so lol yea. Instead of These Words, I sang every single love song that was on the radio.. how pathetic.. rite? But, you want them so bad, you'll do anythin to make up the time.

Reading this.. I think it's about love.. but I guess it's about friendship.. but lol I guess it's just what I thought.

    Keep on writing

Yeah, I agree with kat, cookie dough Ice cream is the best.

    8. You always thought about them being your Vanilla to your Coke or something else like that.

I still do this to a couple of friends. This was a great way to remember someone you loved. I think that whoever it was should be proud to have a friend as great as you. as for the friend thing; If they are still alive, keep in touch. If not, then just remember them with things like this. Well Done.
    Wishing for more

wow, this is a nice writing, the #3 was funny, and no sense but awesome, but what really touched me was the last one, about writing this, and I felt it, it really touched me the last one because of the atmosphere it shows, and gives the reader, anyway It was great, and I might read more of yours, so take care, and STOP TRYING TO STEAL THE GOD DAM SHOUTBOX AWARD, Its MINE UNDERSTOOD!?!?!?!??! MY SHOUTBOX AWARD, NOT URS, ITS GONNA BE MINE, MINE MINE, NO ONE ELSES! ONLY MINE

If you miss them, wait until you can move to go see them... try to keep contact until you can move to see them. >.> i'm doing that. A Girl i knew and liked (Since kindergarden) recently moved after 9 school years. to make matters worse, i'm going into highschool but enough about me. If its someone who passed away, just wait for god (or whatever unseen power there is) to take you up to where they are. This was a good piece, i suppose. Everything will be fine if you move on, as Kat says, and i agree.

Awww!! Hee hee!! I think this is an adorable write. It made me smile as I read it even though it is kinda sad considering it is about losing someone you really care for. I think this list of things could go on and on and on but I really like the top 10 you have come up with here. I personally would dive right in to the icecream too, but for me, it's chocolate. Nothing seems to soothe as much as chocolate does. YUM!! This write is genuine and heartfelt and I enjoyed reading it. Take care.

Everyone else says "friend" but the romantic and pathetic person in me (about 89%) thinks 'significant other' or 'latest flame of passion' but i could be way off base.

I notice that you started with the number 0 thus causing you to end at nine. while this could just be you having a moment or subconciously (can't spell that, sorry) predicting the year that the world will end, I like to believe that you don't feel that your relationship with this person is finished. Nine is not a 'full' number. its a bit akward to end with nine instead of ten and i think you feel that things were not resolved with this person. that is TOTAL over-analization but hey, i'm a writer, what do you expect.

I'm with you on the strawberry ice-cream but never underestimate the power of coorkies 'n' cream.

Natasha Bedingfield? hmmm, i'm more of a Queen girl myself or when its REALLY bad, enya but thats only when i feel like drowning in teen angst and sighs.

I can't offer advice 'cause i don't know anything about the situation whatsoever so do what makes you happy, even if its only for a little while. Thats probably the worst long-term advice you will ever get but i'm a live for the moment person so.......

thanks for giving me a peice to ramble about for a bit without really thinking or offering advice but way to make me think of my "vanilla to my coke" right when i was getting to be ok with just plain coke! (kidding, by the way, they are ALWAYS on my mind)

    Thanks for sharing,

Aww...haha, I prefer the Cookie Dough Ice Cream for the kid in me . Okay, serious now. If you miss them so bad, then go and talk to them. Tell them that you miss them and still wanna be friends again. I'm certain that it could be a stupid reason, or a very serious one. If it is serious, be prepared to beg for their forgiveness. And just remember, no matter what happens you will move on, and everything will be alright.
