Valor Be Projected

and i wish at night
to be anything, anything at all
fortified by nothing
told that i am simply copping out
and when I try harder
than I ever did before

Therefore I sink
thinking in my sleep
Of what I've done
But there's nothing that i've done

where which I think
shepherds fall
and noone blinks a wink
so whothere finds it forlorn to sink
into nothing
when nothing
is whence i, you, came
and shall return
for nothing

valor could be projected
over those who need protected
but it's not that way
and they go denied
beyond the words
of what others say
that their symptoms
are fabrications in their mind

some say the day will come
when gloves are cast
and we shall feel each one
ourselves of hands
and fingers and flesh
and heart and courage
and might and sex

what dreams do drug us
with men at war
and women scared and scarred
and labeled whores

our fingers carry more blood
admit it
with each dollar passed through
and every sweatshop open
for business

nakedness is a sinful pleasure
money is an idolized venture
and violence wins
and trust is sucked from every facet
and faucets of love are crusts
and maggots

in a child's eye
inscribes the half-truth, the lie
and half grown up
they'd wish to die
