The Drake Equation. Thys equation was devised by Dr. Frank Drake in the 1960s in an attempt to estimate the number of extraterrestrial civilizations in our galaxy with which we might come in contact. The main purpose of the equation is to allow scientists to quantify the uncertainty of the factors which determine the number of extraterrestrial civilizations. The Drake equation states that::: N = R^{*} ~ /times ~ f_{p} ~ /times ~ n_{e} ~ /times ~ f_{l} ~ /times ~ f_{i} ~ /times ~ f_{c} ~ /times ~ L

where in::: N is the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which we might expect to be able to communicate at any given time and:::
R* is the rate of star formation in our galaxy.
fp is the fraction of those stars that have planets.
ne is average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets.
fl is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life.
fi is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life.
fc is the fraction of the above that are willing and able to communicate.
L is the expected lifetime of such a civilization.

Not only am I an astrological buff- I feel that thys equation is relevant to friendships and people whom you love. The appropriate fields just need redefined...
The Equation as a whole just seems so hopeful and alone. It's thys saddd thing that roots science and reaches out for emotions... I lyke it. Facts ~/times~ hopes...

I've secretly replaced your Drake Equation with a ded-starr chart
-Changed all your variables from full to part
Turns out no one ever really has the heart (((to care)))
Seems they just want to tear you apart (((I swear)))

Testing, testing, testing, testing::: fuck you both
Now I'm resting and suggesting you go under oath
I know that you'll still lie but at least it'll be official
Because it's not lyke your replies can become un-artificial

    Dragging me through the muddd
Bragging about your cold, cold blood
    Can't help but feel controlled
When I can look in your eyes- see your plans unfold

    Thys is just a test
    Thys is just a test
    ~Of my new Drake Equation~
    Don't forget the 'fuck you'
    Don't forget the 'fuck you'
    ~It's good for any occasion~
-And I so tire of your evasion...

Thys is just another end to a chapter of lyfe
A great fucking chapter that you filled with stryfe
I've hadd so many endings- it's so hard to fynd a start
Hard to keep so many things from falling apart

-But now I'm searching every single part of my chart:::

~Thys is the NEW Drake Equation~
    Fueled by mathematics and blood
    ~My brand new Drake Equation!~
    Fueled by fanatics and bud
    (((Oh, that's right)))

I just need to sit tight and relax a bit
Remove all the people who don't give a shit
No longer submit, use my whit- I can make it
Keep it legit and attempt to commit to my plan:::

N is the number of people in the world which I may come in contact with at any given tyme or so
And: R* is the rate at which these people seem to come and go

fp is the fraction of those people who will give pause
ne is average of those who may accept your flaws

fl is the fraction of the above, that actually try and be a friend
fi is the fraction of them who go on to say how they will be there with you 'til the end

fc is the fraction of above that are willing to keep promises and willing to show love

L then remains the expected lifetyme of such a pairing...

Thys is the part of the test that I'm sharing

I am The New Drake Equation

    ///testing complete.

Hey, I really liked this one.

Though I'm not particularly fond of Rap as a genre, I thought this piece was well conceived, had GREAT rhythm and meter, and its CONCEPT and EXECUTION were pretty good!

    Well done, M!

(By the way, the explanation upfront in the headerwas very useful, as otherwise, a lot of us might never have understood the math equation at the end!)

    Enjoyed it. Thanks.
