The three of the men had their servants carry the body inside the complex. There. The servants laid Desser across a flat, steel table, one used for operating purposes and the like. After Selker had him stripped of his already torn clothes, he ordered the servants to leave immediately, to lock down the door and the entire building, and to leave the site as well. Their matters with Desser were not to be disturbed or to be spied upon, for it would be a matter of secrecy that no other except for the three of them would know about.
Xander first approached the table with eagerness to get a close look at the body. It was indeed toned well, with a bit of color, not a scratch could be seen, and the markings were true to the detail. The tattoos that were said to cover his body were indeed what they were said to be. Desser’s symbol that had a name that only Naathian’s knew was on his right shoulder. A blade wrapped in a serpent and a rose that was on his left wrist, which represented his beauty. Whether that was literal or figurative, or another meaning all together, no one knew except him. And of course the well-known marking given to him to identify his possession of the Elektrin, a golden-blue sphere that was illuminated in sparks and jewels as a rich power would. That tattoo itself only meant that Desser had one more, and that was wherever the Elektrin was hiding inside his body.
Selker watched as Nickadune joined his brother in the examination. Their eyes were so dark and big, their fingertips running over the structure of this being like he was a creature from outer space. Selker couldn’t believe it either. All his life that he could remember, he spent it chasing after this man, and now he finally had him. It was time to do what he had sent out to do.
“We should start by finding the door to the Elektrin,” Selker said as he came from off the steps. He strolled over to Desser’s head, placing each of his hands on either side of Desser’s temples, staring at the dark velvet hair. “I have a feeling it shouldn’t be too hard to find.”
“Why don’t we shave it all off, make it easier,” Xander suggested.
“Right. Get me a razor.”
Xander left the table and scurried through drawers of junk filled odds and ends. As he did so, Selker took one hand and traced the outline of Desser’s skull. He circled around it, the intricate shape formed just as human’s would, but it still seemed different. Its form was as if it was built to carry something that only changed that structure ever so slightly. That, Selker figured, was the Elektrin.
“Here we are,” Xander said as he handed Selker a razor.
Selker, not even hesitating, took the razor to Desser’s head and started shaving away. He rolled it over from the top of his forehead all the way down to his neck where his hairline ended. After several stokes, Desser’s was nearly bald, but there was no sign of any secret doorway, another tattoo, or any marking whatsoever.
“Where is it?” they all said one after the other.
“Where is what?” a voice came from what seemed like an enclosed space.
All three of them looked at one another and all knew too well that that voice was none of their own. Slowly they all averted their eyes to the body. And in return, Desser’s eyes stared back at them.
In just a matter of milliseconds, blue streams of electricity bolted from Desser’s eyes, dancing around his body, hitting all that was in their path. Xander darted to the floor as Nickadune did the same, neither of them realizing that Selker still stood, but not on his own account. His hands still glued to Desser’s head as his body was convulsing in seizures in shock from the electricity flowing strongly out of its source. The streams finally ceased and Selker dropped to the floor. Desser rose easily from the table, looking to the two who shook and buried their heads in their hands on the floor. He made no sound nor notion to his hair, but slipped off the table and simply stood in their presence.
