I wrote this for my mom.. who I lost on September 1, 2004.


Gate Keeper


I wonder
Why you decided
To leave me.
I wonder why
Your lifeless body
Is now empty.

There’s so much
I needed you
To hear.
It feels so long
But it’s only
Been a year.

You told me
I was your reason
For the life you live.
Then your in heaven
Smiling down
On your only kid.

She always
Made a point
To say she loves me.
I turned away
Cuz I was blind
My love she didn’t see.

For me the gate
I Hope she
Will open.

Her face is
The one I see
Im hopin’.

Her wings
Hold me
In her cover.
I lost my life
My love
My mother.
