    Description:
This is not inspired by true events, it hit me in a moment of blah.

Told from the point of view of a child whose father abuses them, but they still idolize their father because they've never known anything different.

    sad story...
Inspired by those kids on Oprah. :(

    -------------------------------------------

Animal instincts: I can't help myself.
I can't resist the impulse to hate.
It's in my nature to hunger for pain.
Would you hurt me if I asked?

    I thrive on heartache,
I live for your harsh words,
Or a slap in the face...
I knew this love was made to last.

    You cover me in bruises,
    So black and green.
You cover me in your anger,
And you make me feel pretty.

You tell me that you're sorry.
    It won't happen again,
But you make me feel so alive...
    You help me to breathe.

    I live in phantasmagoric shock,
Without you, I would surely live,
A stranger life than the one that I've known,
    Thanks for hitting me, daddy.

That was strangley a great piece. It may have a little bit of a disturbing story line, but you fix it with the words that you use to describe and print the images into our minds. I could see a person thanking their dad for beating because in the end when they do get away they are stronger than regular people. They have gone through so much emotionally that they are ready for anything. good write keep it up.
