i don't know. yet another sleep depraved piece of work. the quote at the end is supposed to be the poem whispered by the man in line 12. its actually from a book i recently read called "Coming Attractions" the book was alright but this little poem stuck w/ me.
this poem is about running but always being brought back to where you were running from. the man w/ flesh caught in his sneer is sybolizing whatever is keeping you from escaping. so i guess thats what it is.

    chopping blocks
    ankle locks
and all the other things that make you scream
as blood runs down the hanging trees
they broke your legs right at the knee
    so your body will stay
    and never ever leave

    running fast
    you collapse
and it all becomes so absolutely very clear
kisses by the man w/ flesh caught in his sneer
whispers the last words that you'll hear
    so you fall sleep
    and awake w/ fear

    "i heard it's gonna rain.
    i heard it's gonna freeze

i heard its gonna blow the moss off all the goddam trees"

This is a good poem but a little confusing, I'm sure it would make more sense to me if I read that book you read, but that's ok. I like the metaphores in it, and the wording. You did a good job on this piece. Hope to read more from you soon. :)
