    dotsIn the Days of Magadondots

    In the Days of Magadon

    In the Days of Magadon
    Many years gone by
    Knights in shining armour
    Would hear the battle cry
    And whispered voices softly
Would speak of one so brave
    Who killed five thousand warriors
    But met an early grave
For in his twenty second year
    Whilst riding onward bound
He was ambushed and set upon
And dragged down to the ground
Too late to flee, he realized
    This is his final hour
    Death did claim the victory
    He wilted like a flower
His trusty steed, away did run
    Back to the battle camp
    Steam rising from his nostrils
    His body hot and damp
And in the days of Magadon
    The young maidens were crying
The riderless horse could only mean
    Their hero knight was dying
A young maiden with babe in arms
    She took the horse’s reins
She led him to the stables
She’d soothe his aches and pains
For in the midst of battle
    He’d been slashed quite savagely
But he’d carried his good master
    With heroic bravery
Now peace did come to Magadon
A time for love and laughter
No more a time of fighting
    But of happy ever after
    Children would play happily
    By fires brightly burning
And maidens would think of that knight
    With sweet nostalgic yearning
