Description:

Though it's listed as 'lyrics' whether or not a melody will ever fit it is to be seen...who knows?

Hear

There is a voice.

It cries in the desert,
It waits in the song

There is a voice.

So loud and steady,
And yet quiet to some

There is a speaker.

Who says "hear" now,
Come and then die

There is a speaker.

Who doesn't want listeners,
Because to listen is to lie

Some claim to have heard Him,
They claim to have seen
But they have more places to go yet
Than they have been

There is darkness.

It surrounds the desert,
Looking somewhat better than the dust

There is darkness.

That brings momentary pleasure,
Then stagnation; rust

Some who have heard Him,
Have gone to that place,
They wallow in the poison,
Of the human race

But the voice...

It still cries out,
It still rings true

This is the voice...

That in darkness, when looked for,
Will pierce right through

He has commands and wishes,
But all for love,
And it's amazing to see those,
Who refuse to listen to the above

Die to yourself!
To the darkness outside!
Return to the presence!
Don't control, just ride

This voice...

You can listen,
It can ring in your ear!

It's The Voice!

And all it wants,
Is for you to not just listen...

Hear.

  Okay, so I'm back.
Heh.
My last comment was made at church when I really had to go. but your comment list looked lonely so I felt like leaving one anyways.
=]
But.. quite an interesting format. I'm guess it's about God?
You had ONE typo.

Some claim to have heard Him,
The claim to have seen
But they have more places to go yet
Than they have been

THEY claim to have seen.

...and I just realized that I'm writing this like a MySpace comment, AGAIN.
I have got to stop. Seriously.
Okay so.. yeah. I liked the format because it was unique, but I couldn't see it as a song, really. Maybe like one of those poems that you read at a club [is that what they are? poetry clubs?].
so yeah.
