Description: Oof, have not written here in a long, long while. Here's a fairytale-like free verse poem for you. Well actually, it doesn't become a free verse until you notice a pattern, but it's still free verse style if that makes sense.
You touched my inner sensibility... -------------------------------------------
You touched my inner sensibility
With your words of sensuality
That I longed to hear since ever.
(Those ambrosial words
To my psyche.)
“I realize now
What I had been searching for
All of my life:
Faithful friendship
As much as loyal love.
And darling, that is you.”
If this is a dream,
I wish to not let it dim.
I drink an elixir.
(To them: The Elixir of Death.
To me: The Potion of Dormition.)
I slumber lingeringly
Until the real you comes along
And kisses me
With all of your life,
Your faithful friendship,
Your loyal love.
hmmm. This is a good poem. I do feel, however, that it is in need of more of a focus. The entire point of this poem seems to shift between several different purposes, and several different emotions towards each purpose. I feel that it needs to focus a little bit more, but it is good the way it is. i really enjoyed reading it.
