Many times in this life I have been told that I am an old soul. With that in mind and the idea that many souls aren't being reborn into this world I wrote this piece. If you believe in reincarnation than you would know that it keps hapening until you reach enlightenment, until you reach god. It has been said that the reason so many souls are not returning and that there are no new ones entering this world is because this world(this illusion) is nearing its end and a few centuries it will end. Now I can't say it is true or not, but these things in mind I was inspired to write this piece. Feel free to rip it a new one.

    so many faces
    fade into black
    they're not coming home

    maybe its time
    let the broadcast die
    can't stop the signal
    just the source

    The signals degraded
this static earth aint coming in clear
    Soul-er panels
    can't produce enough power
    the ratings dropped

    when none return
    it's time to say goodnight
    let the curtain fall
    turn off the lights

    everyone wants to know
    how the show ends
    just a gasp
    then enlightenment

    the signals degraded
    this static earth is failing
    soul-er panels
    are shutting down

    so many faces
    faded into black
    countless old souls
    that ain't coming back

    how many faces
    have you worn
    how many place
    were you born

    the signals degraded
this static earth ain't coming in clear
    its time is waning
    I ain't coming back
    this world is ending
    but have no fear
    were all goin home

after the convo we had that other day about old souls i can completely see where you are coming from with this piece.

i like what you are saying but it isnt as powerfully put together as i know you could...

i like the degraded signal idea...
like the frequency is changing but no one knows what to...
like this has been home for so long but we're in the process of moving and we cant quite call ourselves in either home or where we are leaving and thats whats with the old souls not returning...
and perhaps they havent been returning for quite a while now but we are only just realising now...

now personally i dont go for reincarnation or ideas along that line but i really like the way you explained it all to me that other day and i can see that through these words too.

i find it impossible to put into words my faith and belief structure... it all just feels too hollow and the words wont say what i want them to.

i too like the soul-er panels idea... that was very well done. (im a sucker for word play though i myself completely suck at it.)

im sorry it too me so long to comment...

      hmmmmm, reincarnation eh?
    "can't produce enough power
    the ratings dropped"
    ^ speaks loud enough.
our world is just so corrupted, so confused,
everything we think we know about time, about life, its all skewd. Our notion of time is based on our earth, our world. How many stars, how many other earths are there, time works a little different there. sure its still minutes and hours, they can be measured. but do u think if our species had been born of another planet our view of time would be the same? no. pluto alone takes 200+ years to orbit the sun. imagine what else is our there.
perhaps the reason these souls wont come back
is because they have done too much harm to the world. is your time here on earth defined by your actions?
    if so
watch your words, and live by respect

A contemplative resigned feeling is what I get from this... and your description pretty much sums it up.

It's an interesting thought/theory-- in that this world is coming to and end, slowly but surely. Armageddon? Perhaps. Maybe... we have so many new souls on this earth now, but which ones are really the ancient ones? Who knows.

I'm fascinated by Buddhism and Karma, Reincarnation and also Nirvana... which basically means reunion with the Source, the Godhead from which we all spring from... as infinitesmal shards of the One returning from whence we came. Well, that's my personal take on it...

I've always believed this, without reading it since I was young. Reading about it merely made me realize its importance as a Universal Truth. People may bicker all they want about this, but the truth is that no-one can prove or disprove it... so it's much like any theory... ie the Big Bang.

It's funny you submitted this just now... because I wrote a very short one with the same principles earlier today actually-- what I was just talking about: Nirvana, and the knowledge that I'm here to learn my lessons, before my soul rejoins and finds peace from the constant suffering and turmoil a material existence offers. But... it's in those moments of divine joy in life given to us, whether by accident or design, which gives purpose and inspiration I think.

I'm an old soul too. And I find it relieving to find others...

Sorry to blab so much--- it's a subject which has weighed heavily on my mind for what seems like eternity, past lives etc.

By the way, I like the wordplay on "soul-er"-- it's unique.
