Returning to my home, which is a secluded castle atop a big hill, I stumble across a flyer which I hesitantly grab, afraid of the context. Worse then I feared, a vampire slayer search. Though vampire slayers are scarce in this area of the country, I still fear that one day my life may be taken.
Fatigue has taken over my newly strengthened body, so I must sleep. My castle is dark and my coffin is neatly made. I slip into a reckless sleep, which has my mind wandering to a foreign place reached beyond life. A place I may go when I rest forever.
I awake to a hustling beyond the reach of my walls. Strange for my palace because silence is the bricks in which it was built. Unhappily rising, my feet hit the tone cold floor, and an awareness to life and death surrounds me. A shiver echoes through my hollow body and the many hairs upon my neck stand. Listening to the rustle of foreign footsteps urges my body to creep forward to peer out the large, glassless window in front of me. A quake moves my body as my pupils focus on a strange, shiny object located at the foot of my doorstep.
Consciousness takes me back to the other dawn when I read the help wanted poster. This must be the vampire slayer. A snicker came from my own tongue that spooked my soul and rattled the lanterns in the halls. A slayer wearing a lustrous uniform was the most peculiar thing I had ever seen. What would I shining slayer be able to do that was different from everyone else?
