I think it's quite a curiosity how much pleasure we get from things that make us sad--be it movies, literature, or in this case, music. I was listening to Ben Folds Five, my heart aching with the sincerity of the vocals, when these words came out of me.

Track 05

knees to your chest
hands to your elbows
rock back and forth
to the beat of track five

not really humming
kind of just something
create a harmony
just by being alive

soothing your ears
stinging your eyes
want to play it again
but you might not survive

once is enough
i think once is enough
god its heavenly stuff
but old thoughts revive

but maybe it's worth it
do you think it's worth it?
the pleasure and hurt
of the chords of track five

I really love those lines. You captured a position perfectly with just those simple words. There is some great stuff inside you kid. You just need to learn how to let it all out.
