    dotsA Day on the Serengetidots

    Dream of a Serengeti scene,
where a lion pride holds rule.
    A coalition of cheetah screen
other creatures as the feeding pool.

Zebra zeal fields the plain with caution,
as antelopes in their herd do bound.
Giraffe journey feeds at treetops in proportion
    to gazelle, abundantly theyíre found.

    Harem herd of hartebeest graze
in proximity of a bachelor gang.
Drift coyly in the morning haze,
while predators stalk and show their fang.

A female cheetah spies a stray
thatís shied far from the browsing bunch.
A young topi will be her prey,
short spurt of speed and she has her lunch.

    Hyenas drop a lone giraffe,
quick to consume it in their cackle.
    Corpse devoured with horrid laugh;
    feed fiercely after making tackle.

The regal pride now makes their kill
after hours of a daytime nap.
    A wildebeest thatís taken ill
falls victim to a lioness trap.

    Sun sets on Serengeti plain,
swallows savannah in cloak of night.
    Nocturnal beasts arise to gain
    control before the dawning light.
