Description:

This was based on Weezer's song Butterfly.
I was a mean older brother to my sister growing up. I never really apologized for it.
So, I changed the words to the Butterfly song and sang it to her (while my friend played guitar) at her college graduation party in front of everyone.
She cried, hugged me for a long time, and we have been cool ever since.
I love ya, Ape!

For my sister, April

I used to be a kid
I was born to run and play
Fought with my sis instead

When I woke up today
Looked back on what I did
My Lil' sis had gone away
No more a little kid

I'm sorry for what I did
I just did what I wanted to
I didn't mean to do you harm
Everytime I pin down
what I think I want to say
There it goes . . .
it slips away . . . .

Always calling her bad names
I can't wash away my guilt
I was mean and never nice

Could she ever forgive me?
Maybe I could live with that
Maybe I need fantasy
to make this apology

I'm sorry for what I did
I just did what I wanted to
I didn't mean to do you harm
Everytime I pin down
what I think I want to say
There it goes . . .
it slips away . . . .

If I could I would undo
the mistakes that have been made
I can never do that

I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sawwwww ry
