This was a poem that i wrote about the value o uniqeness. This was a vent of my feelings of about a month ago.

Make the font bigger!! Double Spacing Back to recent posts.

    You find me strange?
    Why dont you rearrange
Those twisted thoughts inside your brain!
Then you will kow that everyone is unique,
    No one is the same.

Just because I am not what you want to see
Doesn't mean that I have to stop being me.
God made me special, as he did everyone.
So, in a way, we are alike, but different.
I am not the only one.

It is not hard to comprehend the truth.
If I am weird and different, so are you.
You would be hypocritical if you
    Criticized me for being different,
    Because you are, too.

You're smart enough to know how to be mature.
I know you can be. I am very sure.
So I will pray for you every single day,
    That you will be different
    In your own unique way.

This reminds me of the Liz Phair song, "Extraordinary" and the lines, "Have you ever thought it's you that's boring? Who the hell are you?"

Power to Self-Love...there is far too little of it in teenage girls these days...I counsel girls every day in my eating disorder support-group, trying to get them to learn to love who they are inside before it kills them...kudos

I find that i prefer poems with rhyme so thats one thing i liked about yours...although this is a good poem i feel that maybe the topic is overused a bit by everyone (including myself)....its a good write but not exactly unique

Ya uniqueness is a strange thing, because as you aptly point out, we are all unique. I think the real defining feature of uniqueness is the salient differences, like the ones that stand out. You will notice if a guy has an arm growing from his head - you might not notice if his hair is a few inches longer than yours see? Perhaps the object of this vent just finds something amazingly different about you? (do you have an appendages where they shouldn't be?)

Think Feedback more than Compliments :: [ Guidelines ]

    6. What distracted from the piece?
    7. What was unclear?
    8. What does it remind you of?
    9. How could it be improved?
    10. What would you have done differently?
    11. What was your interpretation of it?
    12. Does it feel original?

Be kind, take a few minutes to review the hard work of others <3
It means a lot to them, as it does to you.
