Description: I wrote this last year for my Little Sisters 31st birthday
Today she turns 32
She has Downs Syndrome and was born dead but revivedby doctors
She also had open heart surgery at two weeks old
Never in my Life have I ever seen someone filled with more Love
I Love You Little One and may God Continue to Bless Your Beautiful Life
For My Little Sisters Birthday -------------------------------------------
Dear Little One
Life has thrown You many obstacles
But Your Strength and Fortitude
Has carried You thru them
Every single Time
Born without Life
Beating from Your Heart
God reached down and Touched You
Bringing an Angel
Into the World
For All the Earth to See
You taught me even though
Your Body is not Perfect
In the Eyes of the Cruel
Your Heart Shines on
Bringing A much needed Light
To A World
Despertly in need of Hope
You taught me that Life
Is something to Treasure
Watching You Reach out to Others
Brings A Tear to My Eyes
Knowing full well
That Gods Little Angel
Brings The Spirit of Love to Us All
Helping Us Realize
That Love can Conquer All
Ron, this poem is absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed the whole poem but, I espescially like the last line ' That Love can Conquer All'. Your sisters birthday is an blessed one.
This is the second poem I have read of yours and I can already tell you have a great, loving, family.
Aside from that overdramatic assessment, it's hard to point out a flaw in something like this. I have a cousin with disabilities, so I can understand what you mean when you say that an imperfect mind or form often hides an angel's heart--all too often, though, we only look at the flaws.
Ron, this poem is wonderful, and so touching! Your love and understanding have got to be a blessing to this wonderful lady who is your sister! Your poem has warmed all of our hearts!
I couldn't help but read this. I have a little sister too and she wasn't breathing when she was born. Still, the doctors did everything they could and i'm glad they saved her. We only got each other and i bless God everyday for bringing me a sister. I love her very much and she is very special in my life.
I'm sorry if I come out of nowhere but i was just browsing through and i wanted to read a few of your work. This one is very touching and i couldn't help but to say how touching this is and although not in the same situation you are in, i can relate totally to this poem.
Just wanted to say, thank you for sharing this. sometimes, it is always good to be reminded of the days we have with the people we love and what difference they do to our lives.
Many things can make a writer great many times it is thought that the writer with the biggest imagination or the deepest or darkest mind can write brilliant poetry and though I have seen a great imagination in your writings the things that make your writings great ,ro is that you write from the heart motivated by your expieriences and love for others this is a great tribute to your sister you really express your love for her here.
Ron, Wow. am i allowed to say that? htats about all i CAN say. You're writing is so from the heart. It is amazing how some of the least likely people can teach us some of the most valuable lessons. My cousin has downs syndrom, and just from carrying on conversations with him, i can totally relate to this peice.
There was of course in the fourth line where you spelt "through" as "thru", but it is a minor detail in the great picture
God has given you an exceptionally great gift in writng. May God continue to bless you and your work.
hey thats an good poem I like it keep writting and thanks for reading my poem,It seems to me that your little sister is very special to you thats really cool man, keep up the good writting
I loved this its real beautiful, there's simply no other word for it,,.
"God reached down and Touched You Bringing an Angel Into the World For All the Earth to See"
I loooved these lines, they real illustrates new life,, for the world to see, this is very very well written. I liked the wording and how it flowed well,
That is just so beautiful. I can just picture her in my head. Oh, how I would love to have someone as special as you have. I'd have to say I love the line "God reached down and touch you" This is so sweet.
First of all, say happy birthday to her. Might not mean much, but do it anyway.
Second of all, tis very thoughtful to write for your sister. ^___^
I won't bother picking it apart. It's not so much a poem to analyze, but merely appreciate for what it is...a heartfelt happy birthday to a sister, who you obviously care for.
I found this very heartfelt. I dearly hope that your little sister greatly appreciated the affection you feel for her. Very greatly written Ron. ~Caotic~
Absolutely beautiful and inspiring Ron. So inspiring that I am gonna keep it. You are so right and I believe too that the world is desperate for hope. I admire your sisters strength and courage and wish her a happy birthday from a stranger who was touched. You always know how to write something that brings out the good side in me. Thanks Your pal, Mike
wow Ron it's been quite a while, but I just stopped to read a few of your new pieces and I really did enjoy this. It seems to have leaped straight from the heart and those are always the best writes
How sweet. Wish your sister happy birthday for me. :) Little siblings can be anything from best friends to little monkeys. Cheers, hope you keep writing. Azuire
